Agreed on the kibble. This thing is smaller than my thumb, I'll be surprised if the boat feat bother me in person.

 

Newage designs always look amazing. Until this Herbie came along.

 

it might be only because the figure is actually very small - and possibly just a test paint job - I do however agree with you, 3p insist on NOT wanting to show comparison picture on announcements to keep their
potential audience as wide as possible, completely forgetting that every one of us (tf collectors) DOES not collect this stuff as standalones. I've been buying this stuff for a decade now and user comparison requests are
always .. like shopping the day before xmas.. scrambling to find out a pic of the bot u want next to something u'd ACTUALLY place it next to (maybe a previous release). There have been exceptions but.. altogether the resistance
against official comparison pics, especially for first announcements is, sadly... an established praxis in this hobby.

 

Good thing is that bee and cliffy will sold together as a box. If they sold separately I will be skipping this, since bee 2.0 bot mode is a mess.

Cliff and bee look great, still think they look overall better than MagicSquares.

Better paint, face, colour, car mode, actually think the back is better, less hunchbacked than MS.

I dislike when figures have a large unbroken chunk in the back, which is why I think the way NA did it is better.

The red on Cliff is absolutely beautiful, and clever that they used magnets to attach the skiis to the metal pins.

 

i hope not, unless it's a really good price. as i only want CJ at the moment.

NA has been pretty spot on with their alt-modes. but Cliffy here doesn't look anything like the Porsche 924. whereas Bee looks like a good VW Beetle.

 

okay just checked the weibo and you're right. the original CJ thread didn't have that part in the translations.  

 

looks like the original translations for OP is missing some info. Bee and CJ is being sold as a set.  

 

This mold seems to be better for Cliffjumper than for Bee. Excepting the perfect head, Bee looks not as good as their 1st version. Maybe a MP size will do a justice for this mold. This small size is forgivable but not ideal.
I will still get both (and hope both will be packed in 1 box!), but I hope NA will keep a balance between cartoon and real situations. This time, I think they only need to upgrade their 1st version to make a perfect legend size Bee.

This is really what I want. I can deal with a little bit of bot mode scale breaking to get an alt mode that's 75% or more accurate to the real world alt mode.

With the way MST works its panel-folding and parts rearranging magic, I am hopeful that's more of what theirs will look like.

 

Unless the "surprise price" is basically 2-for-1 some other ridiculously good deal, I'll pass on this set. I'm still really happy with Flipper. I don't like the face sculpt on MS's version. While I usually love NewAge I just... the torso... such a mess.

I do love the alt mode though, very cute.

 

intrigued by this guy as a one-off figure to mess with. seems like the yellow calf piece needs to be moved to the inner leg in order to get a deeper knee bend past 45 degrees. and that peg on the outer right leg looks like a giant tumor lol. overall, his silhouette looks fantastic, but all the panels look a little excessive for a figure this size

 

This is my kind of language. Totally agree that the shaft would be too small for the material.

Given the limited space they have, its possible they have to do away with a traditional mushroom peg. Perhaps just a simple straight peg in hole? It would certainly give them the meat they need for the material strength. But given that nylon is soft when its done molding, they can also do some simple undercuts in the mold that would give them some sort of retaining feature. From your measurements looks like they can only mold in 0.1 increments.

i have a huge tub full of trash bots that get randomly tossed into deals that i make on this board. if i received this in one of those deals or got it for free that is exactly where it is going.

cliff pulls off this mold far better than bee does. i dont see anything about bee that i like except the jetpack that came with flipper.

but i am happy for you NA guys who are finally getting a bee that yall wanted
