lol...they should have just scrapped this as soon as MS posted their version.

now i am not a NA super fan but i do appreciate new legend bots. but this looks like a very dated fail. the original looks better by miles.

 

Why does he have cassette player buttons on both the front and back in Bot mode? That seems excessive.

I will wait for final versions to really decide but I think I'm still in on MST for this one - especially the cassettes.

Looks like a more realistic set for alt mode and a simplified version for bot mode.

I was going to say MS Soundwave is better and leave, but that would make it seem that I think this is trash. I prefer MS' offering, but if this is a cheaper figure, people could be swayed.

 

Ugh, another button butt like DX9. Not a fan of that or the hollowness on the back. I'm sure it will look great in color though, but probably not enough to get me to swap out my Sonic Wizard, especially since they're roughly the same size.

I like that MST's Soundwave is a bit taller. 10cm is a little small next to either NA or MST Megs for my taste.

I won't say no to this one until they are both further along but when you can still see both button sets in bot mode it feels pointless. If they tucked away out of sight somewhere...

 

im saying none of these designs look good and they are very dated to say the least. the minions have lots that could be worked on. soundwave looks like he is an old FT design from 6 years ago. if UT got their design and produced it.

the MS set looks like a smaller MP set especially compared to these. but hey if you like them then i am happy for you and i hope they are everything you want out of the set. but for me they have points i cant overlook.

I do disagree but can see where you're coming from.

I think the minions look really good especially considering how small they should be. They should be no bigger and probably smaller than the NewAge Insecticons and they're already crazy small.

Soundwave himself does have a bit of hollowness on the back and the buttons on his backside. Again, doesn't bother me. I've seen worse on MP scaled bots.

But I'm glad MS is making a Soundwave you dig man. Enjoy  

 

The tapes are going to be very small, with 3,8cm they are the half of Bumblebee and the Insecticons who are 6cm. They are even smaller than the Spy Patrol from Siege who are about 5cm.

 

Is Scaramanga a James Bond reference or something else? Does Soundwave have 3 nipples?

 

what??? yet another soundwave release? MS-toys, Fanstoys and now Newage??? my wallet will be empty pending how good all these get executed, and when they are released.  

execution of the tapes are key for me. currently happy with Dx9/PocketToys i have.

I'm hearing people choosing, and I gotta ask, why not all? They all look great, and let's be honest, only newage Is going to do the crazy repaint. So make your na one the fruit flavor you want, and ms, the plain or soundblaster one. Hell, why not buy if too, and hope ms or iron factory make a soundblaster. There, three reasons to buy 3 soundwave. Hell! Make a soundwave army! Now they can serve megatron better

I think he looks like a great update for the smaller NA/DX9 scale. I like the minicons a lot too. I'm sure we'll see a lot of repaints of this set, from New Age. Aside from Ratbat, there's at least three repaint opportunities for each tape, and three easy repaints for Soundwave.

How tall is NA's Megatron, though? I feel like 10.2 cm might look undersized with him and the Seekers.
