Did anyone see that there’s a KO coming out? MH-02 Acousticwave 17cm

 

Is that the final or prototype? Looks like a cheap KO, which maybe it is. Definitely not the same finish quality

 

a sub-$100 (or ideally, sub-$80) ko of this would be perfect. 2-3 copies of this with a new head would make a great generic trooper, but for obvious reasons i never cared to do that with the regular release

 

I don’t know why for some reason the ko looks lean and tall. Maybe it’s just the picture

 

Not sure what the point of the clear minions is. Would trade them for more tentacles and/or a HA Carly or Mr. Gould.

No thank you. Looks cheap and the extras aren't doing anything for me. Plus these KO companies are really starting to affect the market I think. The 3Ps aren't going to want to put out new stuff if they'll just get KOed.

 

literally the only thing i want are the laserbeakS and ravageS, and even then i dont like that they are oversized
and if i am wrong and they are not oversized, the soudnwave still looks way too cheap

 

Eh idk if they’re effecting the market all that much yet. So far it’s mostly official MPM’s and Fanstoys getting KO’d. NA’s Soundwave unfortunately already suffered in sales most likely due to its very high $150 price tag.

Id argue the majority of people wanting G1 everything effected the movie market more than anything.

I mean, it's just a theory, but UT has been KOed three times now, and they've become the main company doing original 3P bayverse stuff. There's also talk of a devil saviour KO, although that might just be rumors. Toyworld seems to have puttered out of existence (their fault too) and AAT barely exists... If you look at showz's "in stock" page there isn't a single bayverse thing that's not a KO of something else. Even the bee movie stuff is just restocks of existing figures. And yeah G1 stuff is everywhere, you're right about that. But honestly let's hope that I'm wrong and there are some really awesome bayverse figures around the corner for us!

 

I don't like them personally but to say that they don't exist is kind of insulting. AAT is bringing out all of the movie stuff. They are doing the dreads that hound a second knight op prime dark of the Moon Megatron. That's six characters right there. I would hardly call that barely existing. By comparison unique toys only has DOTM megs right now. I'm not sure if they have announced what the sixth figure would be.

 

You’re right, AAT is almost bring out like 5 movie figs in a few months (not sure if they will actually bring out in Q3 since there are no updates). TW just shows upcoming projects but will take years to build. UT brings out movie figs once a while but comes with a bang. ATT, UT, DS, and TW are the main ones and other companies just make a KO. Also, can’t wait to have ATT products

 

I have serious doubts that all those projects will come to fruition since most of their releases have been soft failures and/or have been delayed for years and years. TW did the same thing for a while and look where that got them. But honestly as crappy as AAT’s figures have been I will be glad if they release more cause anything’s better than having nothing but OSKOs of hasbro stuff.

 

New figures are awesome but I have come to like the OSKO stuff. Having characters be the size that they are supposed to be is nice. Recently got OSKO MPM ratchet and I have to say standing next to OSK OMPM Ironhide and OSKO TLK hound makes me extremely happy for some reason. Also looking forward to the completion of OSKO SS devastator. Big cheap robots with better detail and decent build quality. I kind of think of it like Gundam. You have mass produced mobile suits that fill out the ranks and then you occasionally spend the extra money on what would be a really nice third party figure like sound wave here. This is still one of the best feeling figures in my collection. I want everything to be made out of this soft plastic. It would have saved a lot of breaks.

 

I would love to see more third party bay figs even from AAT but their Hound was announced in 2017 and nothing but renders since and the dreads only got renders released as part of the Makron hype train…. Given how that turned out I think they’re going to be in hiding again.

It’s a shame, I do enjoy their Mirage; they just need to put more money into the materials they use and give greater consideration to tolerance/clearances when designing :/

 

The reviews of MH-02 and Toylab ss-size dtom soundwave are out…not very good… Mista will keep its place as the best 3rd party movie soundwave for a while
