Seems like all the recent ones have been very deliberate. They switch out the the whole inside casing so the plastic ties are still in place. It’d be a little absurd to drive all over New York for this shit, but some transformers fans get real weird so I can’t say I’d be surprised.

This is why I like to have 90% of my figures mailed to me. Sure I have to wait a longer for them to come into stock but I dont have to deal with this

Its not that common so you don't have to "deal" it so much.

On the other hand, seeing the figures in stores lets you evaluate for any QC issues or errant paint work. I've had a couple of cases where my figure arrives from Amazon and I immediately send it back due to a missing part or really hard to ignore paint issue. And the one time I saw SS86 Hot Rod in stores, I consciously passed on it because of very apparent scuffs all over his chest and face.

That said, given how poorly my local Targets stock things, I kind of have to rely on online stores either way.

what a bad human being. Not even for us adult collectors, but for kids.

“Hey mom/dad, I really want this Transformer named Cyclonus. I can’t find him any where.”

Fast forward to a birthday or other occasion. “We got you cyclonus!” “That’s not the right figure!”

    Scumbag.

Agreed. I've worked in a Walmart Toy Dept. Most times parents, grand parents, aunts, uncles......have no idea what the kids are asking for. I would hear "My kid is looking for....PokeMans" or "They want bag-u-gones, bak-u-gans". So yea, I'm sure when someone comes in looking for a "Transformer Cyclones".....an average employee is gonna see the name and go "Is this it?". And the customer will say "I think so". To have a disappointed kid. (And the spelling mistakes are on purpose)

See this makes no sense to me. Why would the person want 2 Blurs?

While I can think the person got the Chromia's on clearance, I haven't seen them marked down THAT much. Is it really worth the effort and potentially being caught to save less then $5? The have to be buying the new fig, going home, swapping it and then driving back to the store. Just in gas, it probably wipes out any savings.

Anyone in the Albany area need an Optimus Primal? My son got one for his birthday from his friend, so I have an extra. New in box.
