A lot of good looking stuff this year, but I only saw a few things that I'm interesting in. These Defenders of the Earth figures by NECA look fantastic. Definitely need the Phantom, but I'm also tempted to get Flash and Ming: It would also be cool to get some of these little BossFight figures to display with the NECA figures: Also really want to get that Zorro Tempted to get some of the Fox X-Men Marvel Legends figures: As for disappointments, I'm still not happy about the 6in G.I. Joe situation, but I've whined about that enough for now.
Retro Spider-Man being all new made me really happy! Everything else was great, but that right there wowed me.
A lot of missed opportunity with comic based Marvel Legends. We got a few good ones but there are so many screaming for a figure that I feel like we may never get. Saw some cool Neca stuff but I've honestly forgotten what it was.
Lots of great stuff as far as I'm concerned. The first wave of The Ghostbusters Plasma Series looks like a win. I'm really happy with what we've seen of GI Joe Classified so far. I liked most of what we saw for Marvel Legends with the only downside being I'm not a fan of AoA so those do nothing for me outside of me possibly getting Nate Grey and Dark Beast since they both made their way over to the 616 universe. I also enjoyed most of the new reveals for Transformers Studio Series and Transformers Earthrise. Super 7 even showed off the third wave of Thundercats which I wasn't expecting yet at all. As far as disappointments I didn't have many. I thought it sucked that Hasbro only revealed the very next wave of Power Rangers Lightning Collection so no idea what's coming for the line next. And I have a similar complaint with Mattel when it comes to MOTU Origins... they didn't show off anything we haven't already seen. Though neither of those is much of a real disappointment. The Star Wars Black Series reveals were lackluster though, but from what I'm hearing they're waiting for Force Friday and the home video release of The Rise of Skywalker to do some big reveals. Overall Toyfair was a lot more positive for me than negative and even the negative isn't because I didn't like what I saw so much as there weren't any new reveals. I'm going to be very broke this year.
Im pretty disappointed that my Toyfair wants is about $800 and dropping all around the same time. Pretty good ML year.
Wants (non-TF): Figma Bloodborne Lady Maria Bloodborne additional weapons pack MK Spawn Upgraded Spawn NECA Armored Lost Predator NECA Alien 40th anniversary figures NECA Tokyo SOS Godzilla MCX Alien Queen Super 7 Aliens humans GI Joe Scarlet McFarlane WH40K Space Marine Disappointment: McFarlane, once again, not saying a word about Hollow Knight.
Wants: Retro ESB figures, especially Yoda Toy Story Minis Transitron Loyal Subjects Cowboy Bebop figs Loyal Subjects Frodo & Sauron DST Lord of the Rings Retro Kenner Ghostbusters Super7 ReAction (too many to list) Transformers Earthrise (most) Transformers Cassette 4 pack Nendoroid BotW Princess Zelda Disappointments: Retro ESB figures, NO BOSSK FU HASBRO (hehe) No Disenchantment product shown (that I saw). I love the show and need figures. Star Wars overall - very little new or interesting. World of Nintendo Overall I try not to be too disappointed with Toy Fair these days since more is usually shown at SDCC.
Heh, I guess I'll try to get a couple of the "Retro" Kenner Fetts to go with the collection. Will be neat to have one on the ESB card.
As someone who fave Joe line was Sigma 6, I'm very hype for a more modern 6" line, and it was probably my favorite announcement. Marvel Legends didn't have anything that grabbed me minus the HasLab Sentinel tease which I'd be def in for, the one wave at a time reveals for Lightning Collection is annoying, and Star Wars, outside of the shocking Revan FX saber reveal, went as expected. So lots of cool stuff, but nothing that got me really hype.
Definite Wants: - The savior of Toyfair was the appearance of X1 Logan on that screen. Not only are Marvel Legends of Fox X-Men a huge surprise, but they came after a solid block of AoA and Deadpool detritus. Though I pre-ordered the X-Men Origins version, I'll probably have both at some point for head swapping. - Ryan Reynolds Deadpool, because I don't have one and he's certainly the one I associate with the character the most. Bonus points if Warhead is in there as a two-pack, because I'm in for her too. - Uncanny Avengers Rogue. I think the prototype is missing the white paint app on her hair that makes her Anna Marie Wagner-Darkholme-Labeau-etc and not Felicity Jones, but this is my favorite costume for the character. - Walmart Exclusive WFC Siege Netflix Economically Titled Megatron Figure, a Megatron shiny enough to go one my shelf. - NECA 2003 Godzilla, or "the other Godzilla I've been waiting for since I started collecting Godzillas a year ago." Maybes: - While I wouldn't go in for a "collection" so to say, the new GI Joe Scarlet (and I suppose the Joe line as a whole) has me intrigued. I get the impression that people who actually know things about GI Joe are upset the first offerings aren't as slavishly G1 as Generations is, but I guess I like the expressiveness of her face, and the printed on freckles. I guess I'm glad to see the days of dour neutral faces getting farther away. - One day I may get a NECA Xenomorph. I was close with the pink one from the video game last year. - A "maybe" in the sense that "I want this, but I pretty much can't have this," Mezco Freeze and Alien. I'm committed to getting the Ascending Knight if for some reason I ever get the income to use on a Mezco, but if I ever have even more than that, they're two and three. - I feel like the Movie Xavier and Magento figures are going to be a two pack, which is why they come with their quite-out-of-place older selves as head options. I would prefer to get Mags separately, but we'll see. Disappointments - The Star Wars presentation was "Get excited to buy articulated versions of figures you got for Christmas 40 years ago," which immediately doesn't do much for people who weren't alive for Christmas 1980. The closest thing to a Sequel Trilogy reveal was that Zorii Bliss' visor comes off, and the only Clone Wars stuff was in the GoA line. - NECA is committed to not making any characters in their Godzilla line who are not Godzilla himself. Which is lame. - A mild one, but I expected a little bit more out of Earthrise Snapdragon.
NECA Godzilla, some Marvel and Star Wars stuff, especially Mezco Ghost Rider, TVC Slave I and BS Snowspeeder were the standout things that I want. Good to see GI Joe but only ordered the Snake Eyes for now. I’m not disappointed by the style they went with, more relived it means I get to save money but the most impressive thing is the mini diecast vehicles that I might have to buy all of.
I was hoping to see more of the upcoming Joe line...but not too bummed about it since it isn’t a primary franchise for me. I saw plenty of NECA TMNT stuff to keep me busy. The ML, TF and SW stuff looks swell, but I’m just not interested in most of it. This all suits me just fine. I’ve been on a holy tear buying toys the past couple years and I need a slowdown anyway. I’m mostly just going to cherry pick for the next several months.
I really want the new Studio Series figures shown, as well as the Lego Razorcrest, Mega Construx Pelican, and the Lightning Collection Time Force Red and Zeo Gold for sure. Really disappointed in Earthrise, and really disappointed in no new Star Wars Clone Wars. Probably the one line I was most excited to see and not even a peek.
More news than I expected... Biggest wants: Retro spidey wave War machine One:12 Predator Neca Android Krang, Metalhead, and Splinter intrigued by: Chronicle Collectibles 1:12 Grant and Raptor. The 1/6th are pricey - might go this route. Neca 1/4 Raphael The new And rereleased GB stuff Potentially the Cobra GI Joe releases There is tons more cool stuff, but I really have to watch myself
I'd still like an Original Death's Head One Marvel Legends sometime. Or even an entire Transformers comics related gift set (Marvel not IDW) Some 6" MASK would be nice too in the same style as those NECA figures. Which reminds me I need to see if there is any new Aliens. ----- As for Disapointments, no new 6" Miraculous Ladybug figures and not much I wanted in the way of Plushes. I could do with some more options for Star Wars creature plush too - Hasbro & others isn't very good about doing that as much as i'd like.
I'm both excited and disappointed by Wicked Cool Toys Halo line. Excited because more Halo toys = always a good thing. Disappointed because Mattel will never be able to release this now: And I really wanted this.
Genuinely disappointed at the implicit confirmation that the Overwatch Ultimates line is dead. That being said, McFarlane's Cyberpunk figures and a lot of the Marvel Legends reveals have me excited.
Disappointed -So much stuff got spoiled BEFORE Toy Fair with the G.I.Joe and Transformers stuff. -No Trailbreaker, Inferno, and Sunstreaker reveal for Transformers: Earthrise -No Destro reveal or anything beyond the four G.I.Joes for G.I.Joe Classified -Power Rangers in general as it feels like for all the money they spent to get the license, Hasbro isn't really pumping the stuff out for it. -STILL NO FIRESTAR FOR MARVEL LEGENDS!!! Excited (Wants) -NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, both cartoon and movie stuff. So much want right there. -Transformers: Earthrise Sky Lynx -Marvel Legends Nimrod at last, and he's NOT a BAF! -Other Marvel Legends reveals such as the Retro Spider-Man, 1st appearance War Machine, Maverick, and Black Tom! -The Retro Real Ghostbusters figures (Can we get an Ecto-1 as well?)
Was disappointed they didn't show a second wave of Avatar: The Last Airbender figures from Diamond Select. Also disappointed the Real Ghostbusters offerings were reissues and not modernized molds, but at least it seems like the latter might still be possible with Hasbro having the license now.
Wants G.I.Joe 6" line NECA Godzilla (Bio/GhidoGoji and SOSGoji suit) Retro Spidey Transformers Earthrise later waves Masters of the Universe Origins line Disappointments Still waiting for this guys from NECA:
