While I can say these guys look immpressive.... All the images I've seen so far "LOOK" like they use a substandard plastic in comparison to what we've been getting. I get more than BM vibe from them, It looks like we've stepped back 8 years in terms of the talent Hasbro's picked up in making TF.

I am going to say that thesefigures will be a reminder of the Beast Machines days.

Even if they aren't a 100% accurate I will still get them, they look good so far. I am sure the new "Ultimate" size figure will have the most accuracy.

I can't really tell thing one about plastic quality from those photos, and almost never in general without holding a toy in hand.

As far as design quality and such, I'd assume the main task of the design team for these TFs is to make a toy at a given size and price point that looks serviceably like the robot from the movie - that in itself being no mean feat at any size, never mind deluxe - and include a gimmick or two . Either way, I'm not throwing out any big judgments on the first wave of photos.

the toy looks good, he's got a lot of weapons and stuff. he's definitely not megs, he's too small. I'm definitely not buying this toy unless I get him for free as part of a buy 2, get the 3rd free. this toy would be perfect if they had only made him an ultra, I mean look at him, he's a tank with 2 turrets and an arsenal of weapons, no autobot can touch him from the front cuz he's got those spikes jutting out; it's a shame they made him a deluxe, I mean he's one of the bigger and cooler decepticons in the movie, a tank for pete's sake with 2 turrets and they make him a deluxe, major letdown. plus, he looks like he doesn't have poseability in his elbows.

There will be multiple figures for each character in the movie. There will surely be a version of this character that is at least a mega/voyager.

Whether Brawl gets multiple size / price point toys probably depends on how much of a 'heavy hitter' he is in the movie itself. It's pretty much to be expected that Bumblebee and Optimus Prime are likely to get more than one toy. Harder to say on the baddies. I'd imagine the script-spoilers out there can give estimates on the screentime of the different characters.

I'm still struggling to grasp that the catch things on the front of the tank didnt end up as his feet, they are hinged and everything!

Brawl looks awesome, Bring on Barricade.

Perhaps they didn't try so hard on BB because they figured name recognition will help sell it.

Thank you for your articulate well considered comments.

Rip off isn't the right word - there is a likeness though.

You're welcome. I can't say that God wanted me to have this gift, but all evidence points to it.

Hmm. I'm definitely surprised he's so small. Looks like a pretty nice fig, though. At first glance, his face actually reminded me of a Lithone...

Not too bad. Even though he's small, I do get a Megatron inclination with him with that arm cannon and all...

Excellent. Nice amount of detail for such a small figure. Love the arm cannon.

    Bring on the rest :)

Wow, they're small. I thought they'd at least be Altenator sized since they're going on hiatus after Rumble and Ravage. I would have thought that they'd try to separate the Classics with the movie line size wise to attract not only the collector's audience, but the casual kid/person in passing.

It's just got that Beast Machines/Guyver/Matchbox Gobots vibe to it. I'll still buy them regardless because they still look nice, just not what I (Or a great many people) expected.

Since Botcon 2007 is going to be just before the movie, I'm wondering what movie-related toy will they sell us for the price of paying for the entire 1st Wave of the movie toys.

Very nice. Can't wait for these guys to come out. I do hope that some of them get larger price point figures though. Simply to do their big screen images greater justice.
