Just watched the latest TV spot on the home page here at TFW and it looked like Prime's tranformation is different from the first film. If I'm insane its ok to say so but take a look see what you think!!!

    Transformer World 2005
Just have to scroll down (as if you didnt know that already) but thought I would provide a link to make things easier :)

Edit: What I noticed is that Prime's hood begins to flip open where in the first film his hood split down the middle and his arms came out!

It looks a little differnet for sure, but i like that. I prefer that they transform in slightly different ways each time, more creative.

Yea I dont have an issue with it either just makin sure I wasnt seeing things but yea would be kool if they tranformed in different ways depending on the situation...as in rushing into battle or just in a calm sitation to interact with others!

Agreed. It's kinda cool if they transform SLIGHTLY differently (as long as the correspondence in the parts' position is maintained).
It's kinda the same as a fighter can get up in many different ways when knocked to the floor.

If this is bothering you, then watch the '86 movie.

Pay attention to Hot Rod. :thumbs2:

I usually Transform my TF toys differently depending on what I feel like doing first and what is more convenient. TFs must do this too when transforming themselves. That's my theory. Hot Rod Transforms a different way every time in the '86 movie.

I remember reading somewhere that they transform based on necessity. It could have been the prequel novel, prequel comics, or maybe even the extras on the bluray/dvd...but I thought it was established somewhere that the Transformers in the movie-verse do not transform the same way twice?

For example, if Prime was rushing into battle, he might expose his arms first in order to make his weapons available first. I don't thnk they transform one set way.

Bumblebee did that too in the fight with Barricade. He converted so his fists were the first thing out and he was immediately on the defensive.

Ironhide transformed differently when he meets Sam versus when he does his flip move at the end.

Yes, if you watch the first movie Prime does three different transformations.

His highway transformation, he he gets his legs out first hence them dragging across the road which he uses to slow himself down a bit to complete the transformation.

    Quite interesting.

and dont forget to also check out Mixmaster when the order was given for them to merge as Devs...

it's actually Mixmaster's legs that becomes the foot of Devs but in that scene he is seen bending forward & his head becomes the foot of Devs.

Transformations are different every time. The ILM people admitted that they moved parts about as needed to make the best looking shot of the transformation depending on the angle the camera was looking at it.

Early on in the first film's production, ILM and team decided to opt for making each transformation unique, and abandoned the idea of just making a single consistent transformation for each robot.

ya your not crazy and if anything this is only the 4 th differant transormation going. In the first movie there was differant transformations for 3 seperate scenes and that is because in a movie called transformer the TF's cant really transform.

They may have finally figured it out by now but the fudge factor for the first movie Transforms made G1 look believable.
