I agree that you can hear some Jetfire in the voice, but Ryan's Jetfire was an old, yelling, fumbling idiot lol. Lockdown sounds cool, calm, and calculated. Menacing IMO
Bruh. This movie will be great. who cares but My theory: I feel that the ship scene will be the beginning of the movie. Some way or another Cyberforming Earth failed and in the process, a couple dinosaurs were cyberformed as well aka dinobots and Optimus finds them in China. And Lockdown is back to do it again. I think Lockdown's searching for Optimus to get to the Omega Key or the Matrix.
I just think he's pretty average. I actually would have loved Kiefer sutherland as lockdown to be honest. He has a bad ass voice and a voice that toes the line between good and evil which lockdown does. Mark Ryans voice makes him sound like an English thug, a football hooligan similar to Danny dyer or vinnie Jones imo. Utterly and bitterly disappointed. Don't understand what the fetish is that bay has with British accents.
It's not just Bay... British actors are used as villains everywhere. I get what you're saying, but he IS supposed to be slightly thuggish. Are there any bounty hunters who aren't? The plus side of Mark Ryan doing it, is that they aren't cockney villains like Vinnie or Danny Dyer lol. Plus, I don't like Kiefer as Snake, do don't think he'd work for Lockdown, personally.

Great theory, but Lockdown is a bounty hunter, this theory is more of a scientist, of course someone could have sent Lockdown to do this job, but I think the aim is to take over the planet, extinguishing mankind and all his "protectors (Autobots) ", this service could be provided by Nova Prime.
You guys have heard one sentence and writing the voice off completely? That might not even be the final version or that might not even be in the film. I do agree, they should have used a different voice actor. I would love to hear Patrick Stewart as Lockdown, that would kick ass.
lol I do too, to be honest.. pity it's not actually the line. I think 'saviour' sounds like he thinks he's better than prime.
Where did this come from? Several people on the boards keep saying this. Galvatron isn't a secret. Everybody knows he's in the film. He gets his ass handed to him by Prime. We see this happen. He's controlled by the humans. He's obviously not the main villian. Maybe he becomes sentient later, but it's really obvious that Lockdown is the focus in this film.
Probably BECAUSE of the reason you just said. Lockdown is the main focus, just like Shockwave was in the trailers. Also, there is a Kre-O set at a factory with a large Galvatron
Not taking anything for granted with these films. In short... I don't mind... as long as it's awesome!
Sorry, but there's more footage of Lockdown doing things and accomplishing objectives in the trailers than there was of Shockwave in the entire DotM film....it's not even comparable. Lockdown is obviously the big bad.
