Probly that masterpiece that was rumored which is most likely grimlock
SkyWarp, Thundercracker and Starscream 3 pack in Universe packaging
I was just thinking that. It actually makes sense given that Hasbro has released the mold 3 times since RID. They know it sells and know it will sell even better in G1 colors.
and it would go well with the theme of combiners this year
probably not for $50 CDN/$35 USD
yeah, SDCC/HTS exclusive: Generation One Soundwave Re-Issue with Four Cassettes to be San Diego Comic-Con 2009 Exclusive - Transformers News
I'm glad you mentioned it because I didn't want to hunt through 17 pages of post to see if I was the only one with that same idea. (Shockwave that is)
I think that would be supremely cool and a big hit considering recent events in the TFA cartoon series.
What I wish I would stop seeing is folks posting ideas about MP figures and crap so obviously too new that it has no chance in hell of falling into the "G1 Commemorative" category. Masterpieces are MP's and nothing else and Soundwave has been re-issued so many times he's become a shelf warmer.
And for anyone still confused, the "SRS" at the end of the toys code has NOTHING to do with a possible name, it is an abbreviastion for "series" in the stores computer system. And folks, please no more Prime suggestions. They JUST released one for Primus' sake. I can drive 3 miles and pick one up right now if I want...at K-Mart of all places.
I'll be quite content to hope like hell for Shockwave and expect to be rewarded with a 4 pack of Jumpstarters and Battlechargers.
Shockwave'd be awesome but:
#1. Takara hasn't done it.
#2. those pesky US toy gun laws would most likely come into play ~ didn't Hasbro say they don't even think they'd be able to do something as gaudy as Classics Megatron again?
#3. He'd cost more then $50 Canadian (and would probably be a unique listing instead of as a "series')
I'd been hoping these would be the next Encore releases so if Hasbro covered it first I'd be quite happy.
What he said.
I'm honestly surprised anyone is excited about this news considering A) how many times G1 toys have been reissued by now, B) Hasbro's track record of NOT reissuing many of the figures people actually want, and C) Hasbro's other track record of having to adjust their reissues because of safety laws.
As it is, that latest overpriced 25th Anniv. G1 Prime reissue is a bigger shelfwarmer than TFU Unicron, TFA Blackarachnia & the Movie repaints combined and I'm betting that even if they're only reissuing the G1 versions of Movie characters, they're going to be in for a world of disappointment. Most collectors have them already and most kids won't want a brickformer that either looks outdated or nothing like its Movie counterpart.
I wonder what they will be?
Wish the US would get some more G1 Reissues. I missed out in '04.
$49.99? I say Soundwave as I cant think of anything else that retailed for that. Prime and Mags I think retailed for $59.99 so I cant wait to find out.
G1 Bumblebee, Goldbug, Pretender 'bee and AM 'bee!!!!
Done and done.
I think we're all forgetting the obvious option that Hasbro and/or whoever broke this news just didn't do their homework and it _is_ something that's been reissued here before.
My unreasonable dream: any of the combiner sets. Reality: Soundwave, Magnus, Seekers or something like that. Maybe it could be something cool like Sixshot or one of the base bots, but unlikely.
Oh and for those saying Shockwave, wasn't it recently confirmed, in the past year, in an interview with people from Takara that the mold is gone? I'm sure I saw it somewhere.
Oh God, if it were Sixshot I wouldn't even wait for a price drop. I'd just go out and buy that sucker asap.
Maybe a long shot (a real longshot) but maybe, just maybe Hasbro temporarily aquired some rights to reissue jetfire???
... with that being said, it's probably Soundwave
I'm not excited at all. I'm pretty confident that it's just a Canadian release of the SDCC Soundwave re-issue, as SDCC is an American show, and their exclusives are released normally overseas usually, anyway.
Ultra Magnus has been done already. HERE
As well as
I am sure I am forgetting some but you can cross them off.
