That strut and the gun on his shoulder have me wondering. Those aren't traditionally part of Doubledealer. I wonder which character he can retooled into that has those items traditionally. Besides the Fuso's obviously.

 

No. I only get one figure per character. I have all 3 Siege Datsun bros. Why waste money and time selling what I got and turning around to buy all 3 again? I think the Siege figures look better anyways, IMO.

I was thinking the same, but couldn't put my finger on why until someone in another thread pointed it out.

There should be orange highlights on Runamuk's robot mode. Has/Tak seem to doing their "only the G1 cartoon matters" thing, and went with a cartoon-accurate all-white robot mode that, IMHO, just looks boring.

 

Is it just me or is runamok just a retool of Wheeljack?

 

Gonna need that Runamuck mold in the generic Cons colors from the Devestation game.

I'm looking at his chest and wondering if that big blue section will be big enough to tuck one of the Spy Patrol tapes.

They seem willing to bring back the Titanmasters for Apeface and Snapdragon, so maybe they will do Powermasters too. But I could also see Krok and Skar as a pack of tapes down the road.

 

Also remember that Hasbro and TT have different business models and cater to their customers differently. Hasbro will never be TT and vice versa, but then again they dont try to be each other.

There are multiple forms, size classes, gimmicks, color schemes and remakes of single characters.

That black thing on Doubledealer\'s back is a stabilizer leg for the missile carrier mode. IRL heavy trucks like that deploy legs to stay in one place when they do things (especially heavy crane trucks and the like).

EDIT: Also, I figure we'll get Runabout, Runamuck, and Sunstreaker from that tooling.

 

Before the brand unification...Hasbro tended to chase the look of the toy while Takara chased the animation. Since then, my guess is Takara has leaned on Hasbro to make their figures look more like the show since they may have data that shows it sells better overall (between the two).

May even have been part of the compromise. Takara falls in line with the way Hasbro sells figures, and in exchange Takara gets more say into the final look of the figure.

Glad to see Smokescreen get a mass-retail release. If they give Prowl some actual paint apps, I may even buy him this time. The legs on this mold look like an improvement, for starters.

Doubledealer's hollow legs aside, all these look really good. Even if he is going to break into armor for a Prime at some point, I'd like to see them add simple fold-out panels to cover up those massive gaps.

Runamuck looks perfect. The Quintesson being another base is a fantastic idea. Alicon is beautiful. Damn, this line is just knocking it outta the park, and then using it as a missile to attack my wallet. Just wow.

I like everything I'm seeing from Earthrise so far. We're finally getting characters other than the usual suspects, who haven't been seen lately.

 

Doubledealer' face sculpt makes him look like a conniving sumbitch you can't trust, well done.
