Looks good. Wish it wasn't so expensive. I could buy it but then I'd seriously regret spending so much on them.
Perfectly normal behaviour - question is, do you think the tapes are worth $50 each? I'm a cassette-o-holic with a fairly big TF budget, but even I have a hard time going for these guys. Just feels like you are paying a premium price for something that looks like a KO recolor.
Nope, I'll have to pass on that. If I actually liked the whole set I would have to buy it from EHobby on Principle any way and that would drive up the price more anyway. Just walking away.
Sure, they are a little pricey, but it's still a fun and enjoyable collectible. Yes, SG gets a lot of flak, but you could just repurpose them to whatever you want, that's what I'll be doing. Also, you are paying for exclusives. And when you break it down, it's not that high of a price for what you are getting. Considering loose complete cassetticons sell between 20-50$ each (Cobalt Senty sells for $80 for two tapes), and G1 loose in ok condition soundwave and blaster go for $20 & $30 respectively. $20 - SG Soundwave $30 - SG Blaster $40 - for each tape. That isnt that bad for MISB new guys with high exclusivity. ~Kiyoshi
I wish Takara would release more cassettes by themselves, say two packs of four. AUTOBOT ACTION MASTER PARTNERS Lionizer from Steeljaw Top-Heavy from Ramhorn Tyrannitron from Overkill Sights from Laserbeak GENERATION ONE VS. SHATTERED GLASS Heroic Autobot Bolts from Rumble Evil Decepticon Catgut from Ravage Evil Autobot Snarl from Slugfest (Dungeons & Dinobots stegosaurus' color scheme) Heroic Decepticon Ratbat ('civilian' brown colors) Thats all reissued molds used except for Eject/Rewind. Bolts is from the 1986 movie script who became Eject and Rewind. Catgut is Treadshot's Action Master partner.
Gah I'm still waiting for SG Goryu from MP Grimlock, although that will probably never happen. I like this set and all, it's just even when broken up and priced I can't justify that price. Which is odd since I easily paid fifty for a g1 overkill.
No thank you. Soundwave has one of the weaker Shattered Glass repaints in my opinion, I don't feel any need to grab this or his tapes. Same goes for Blaster, I guess.
it's a lot of money but it breaks down to 35$ a fig. considering i just spent 40$ on a flipsides to complete my cassette collection, it looks like i'm getting it.
Not at all, as that's how I feel about them as well. Yeah. For me, it's the timing. At the end of this year, we really got hit. For me, it was the remainder of the Prime figures I wanted, the GDOs, and the MP Lambor and Alert. This is also considering that I passed on MP Optimus since I have the TakaraTomy MP-10. Many others didn't, so that's another $130 on top of all that I just mentioned.
Is there somewhere still selling Flip Sides separately? I would buy the pack, but I don't want to be stuck with another Twincast. By that same logic, I think I can justify this pack too. I just paid about $30 each for the Cobalt Sentrys. Plus, Blaster is really growing on me, and I just love the Soundwave mold in general.
