guess the next line will be celebrating various eras instead of being G1 concentrated...

interesting they're going with core Studio Series...they will probably be out of scale with the rest of the series, but still a welcome opportunity to get something like Bay-Scorponok...I wonder if they'll be able to transform into anything noteworthy at that size...

presumably that Wheelie is the Bay Wheelie not rhyme-time Wheelie...

    Energon monster...repaint of something?

I hope we get new Armada Demolishor and Armada Thrust figures.

Why would Prime Arcee be in this line by itself without any other Prime figures ? I think its more likely Energon Arcee. Id argue that TF Prime figures (especially first edition) dont really need an update. What are they gonna do ? Give them ankle tilts ? Wrist swivel ? I think the plan to homage Prime is through the RED line so they can give them that silly cartoony physique by axing transformation. You might get TF Prime reissues with more accurate decos (like Knockout) through Pulse at some point. The infamous Breakdown got a mass release and ruined scalpers day. I predict more of that coming with other highly sought after figures that ebay scalpers are hoarding for aubsurd prices. Especially TF Prime.

I like this idea a lot. It emphasizes a more interesting “team” angle to the combiners and could help flesh out each member’s personality and function/specialty.

I hope a transformable SS Core Class Scorponok is able to turn into a General Electric T700-GE-401 Turboshaft engine, the part of Blackout that Scorponok is formed from and is able to attach onto SS Leader Class Blackout.

Perceptor also has an incredibly simplistic character design and doesn't really require much engineering. Also, I'm pretty sure Hasbro could utilize the budget in Legacy the same way they did in WFC, there's not really any reason they couldn't

That's Funpub BW Uprising Jetstorm you're thinking of, not IDW

What can you tell us about Mark? Any quirks or specialties he has that we should know about?

They need to be Titans to be in-scale.

I could see him still being able to combine if he were a short Titan like Combiner Wars Devastator.

That's a pretty bold statement there.

Speak for yourself. I'd love a TFP Arcee with a nose.

I think this is a weird comparison to make. Maybe it’s not that Hasbro has little faith in SS but that figure is better suited at a $200+ price point and HasLab.

Would a leader or commander class Star Saber sell well? I think it would. Would a HasLab Unicron Trilogy character get successfully funded? I don’t know…

If we are getting Cybertron Metroplex as the next Titan, I still don’t see that as a negative on SS. Some figures fit some price points better. A Titan class figure demands a big box with a big figure. You’d shortchanged Star Saber by designing him around that requirement because he’d likely end up losing a lot of complex engineering in order to bulk him up. It would be a mismatch of class and figure (IMO).

Arcee is not the only Prime character being done, Bulkhead is also listed. Rumors say, we are getting Knockout and Optimus as well

This is what I always imagined combiner teams should be. Not just the core 5, but up to a handful of backups as well.

Since this new one is voyager priced, I don't think so.

It was rumored to specifically be the Prime incarnation of Arcee alongisde Bulkhead and Knock Out, though Airachnid needs a good toy unlike that disastrous deluxe from the Prime toyline

I suppose you make a fair comparison. It probably echoes alongside other commenters on the wackiness of making SS a HasLab project as well, but I guess we’ll see how it turns out. Hopefully their stretch goal isn’t anything like 20.000 preorders or something like that

You missed Bulkhead in there huh?

And there's more Prime stuff like Optimus and Knockout others in the next line as well.

I mean, if he had the engineering of a commander class figure but was inside a Titan class price point I would A-OKAY with that.

But if he was just a huge chunk of plastic with simplified engineering, then no, I’ll pass on that.

I think there are different ways combiner teams could be portrayed. A team like you describe is one option, but would have potential weaknesses (example, the extra guy is vulnerable without being combiner...how many torsos do you have available?)

Compare that to a team of five where each person has one roll (Predaking) or a team of interchangeable limbs (Scramble) or even the Seacons dynamic.

It's why I was hoping CW would explore those more in depth. A limited series focused on the dynamics of a combiner team could be fascinating. What do they do to train in new members? How do they handle the loss of a component? Is there any mental toll to combining or any potential team dynamics that could mess up the gestalt?

Think of it like Voltron but there aren't pilots.

Same, but I feel anything above big Leader (think Grimlock) would make the combined mode too heavy.
