He was a toy in the line with a bio, he's canon like every other toy only character ever even ignoring the fact Takara botched the idea of the Omega Sentinel's in the cartoon like Hasbro had planned.

For me a character being canon or not has no effect on if I want a toy of them or not unless it's someone like Skybyte where I'm buying him more for the personality than the design. But characters with no fictional presence are automatically all about the design.

 

I dont think we'll see any Legacy figures until NYCC in early October at the earliest.

NYCC usually seems to be the event to tease the following year's CHUG toys.

 

Pulsecon being a fall con is essentially taking the place of NYCC

 

Of course, they do. That was sort of the point in the original toyline/show and so it was for Kingdom, at least implicitly. People forget that in all cases of BW continuities (the proto toyline of G1 sequel, the classic show and Kingdom) they are characters from the future. The technology which made the Maximals and Predacons is centuries after the G1 era. They're not supposed to look blocky and geometric as much nor do they have that retro scifi Floro Dery look.

They had better do comics colors this time. No idea what they were smoking when they made the previous one in RID colors…

Also, if it has a toy, it’s canon. Toys trump all else, as Hasbro is a toy company first and foremost. If it shows up in any official media, it’s canon. Can there be conflicting canon? Yep. Because there’s more than one canon. In the toys, Energon Landmine and Landquake were brothers. In the cartoon, Landquake’s colors were used as a “powered up” Landmine. Same media, different stories. Both canon.

 

Point is, that they didn't just made them blocky G1-y bots that turned in mechanical animals, they stuck to the original aestetic as much as possible. So I don't see why characters from other iteractions of the IP should get a different treatment.

So I guess this is sort of like the old Universe line but with original molds, in a way? All we'd need now is a new Tigerhawk and SELECTS as Razorclaw (Know that he is Razorclaw!). Oh and people losing their minds arguing about a certain detail on about Tigerhawk.

 

I'd unironically buy a volcano titan regardless if he's Unicron or not. Would a possible retool be an icy mountain primus?

 

Apparently it was because the Universe toy was only refence available in Hasbro's archives at the time.

Which is odd cause they could have just looked at the very Dark Cybertron comics they were including with the toys.
