I don't know how you know the joke about naked princess leia, but didn't know that Floro Dery designed arcee to be reasonably transformable, and the issue was that the animation company made certain redesigns that made her car mode largely impossible. Floro Dery's arcee has a large portion of her car mode folded up on her back, and her legs folded up to form most of the back half of the car

 

If this is a Takara Tomy release, then I hope Hasbro will have preorders soon.

 

I've already got my Earthrise Arcee. I'd rather be disappointed with a decent $20 figure than pay higher import prices to be disappointed with a figure that's also only decent.

The preview looks a lot pike the ER Arcee to me. It\'d be nice if we got an actual alt mode that transforms. Fingers crossed for a brand new Arcee toy but seems unlikely

If it's T30 with more articulation then I'm all for it.

 

I'm just hoping that the new tooling more integrates her al mode into bot mode.

 

There's not actually a significant difference between the two designs, as far as engineering would be concerned. The only major difference is that the fenders were moved from the front to the backpack.

The squared-off thighs do facilitate a more integrated transformation, but it's not like T30 didn't already do the same, in having her rear fenders transform into her thighs. Her extra backpack kibble comes more from the fact that they decided to give her alt-mode its proper rear fascia, instead of leaving it open, as per Kobayashi's original BotCon custom. The original design doesn't immediately seem to address that.

Also, those prototypes look like static mock-ups, rather than anything that could ever transform. Not sure how they planned for those wheels to work.

 

this is the one bee ive been waiting for since the start. crossing my goddamn hands they actually paint him gunmental instead of that ugly combination of unpainted grey and silver weve had so far for his bayverse figures. the lack of a mask is a huge +

A studio series repackage with a better redeco and retool will make it a vast improvement from the Earthrise version.

 

So Takara has announced SS Arcee and Sideways before Hasbro announced them.

 

I think they revealed Kingdom Rodimus before Hasbro did. So it’s not a first.

 

I'm all for a retooled T30 Arcee with a less disquietingly human lower torso. Like that thing just makes me feel... Uneasy.

 

Right? T30 Arcee has a very human looking pudge on her stomach and everything. Some sculptor was very horny that day
