So, I've been seeing a that a lot of the fans here are getting tired of seeing the same old storyline in the transformers universe. Same characters just in a different storyline. So I was thinking that maybe we start off a series with Rodimus Prime. But then hasbro may not go with that because of kids may not know of the character. so how about they start off a series with Optimus is still alive and the intro story arc is Optimus dying and Hot Rod becoming the new Prime. and from there the start of a new universe can begin. What does everyone think?
I'd watch it. I'm sick of Optimus Prime and BB being the only Transformers. However I would prefer Star Saber or Fort Max over RP
I want a regular cast of Blurr, Wheeljack, Warpath, Hound and Jazz. Optimus Prime is missing. But yeah, later introduce Springer and Superion.
I'm not too sure that Hasbro would allow another show lead besides Optimus Prime, but that doesn't mean that your idea can't work. You could have Optimus be the new guy who ascended to take Sentinel Prime's place during the introductory story arc. Even if that doesn't work, there are so many ways you can work with Optimus; just because an Optimus has most of the core traits doesn't mean that you can't do totally unique things with him. Look at Animated and Bayverse Optimus; same core, different circumstances and development leading to two totally different beings. I personally prefer taking a hero and pushing him to his limits and beyond, to show that he is a hero instead of just telling it, but that's just me.
I figure we're stuck with Optimus and Megatron as the headliners for the duration, but I wouldn't mind some kind, ANY kind of shift in the normal formula - though personally, I'd probably be too tempted to shift in directions beyond the comfort zone of most fans in order to change things up.
So other than the leadership, what can we change up? I rather like the idea of a lone Autobot (Optimus) supported by a human secret organization against the Decepticons. It would be like Hellboy's B.P.R.D.
Yeah but if this WAS to happen then we would a bunch of geewhiners writing (hasbro/michael bay/Larry ditillio/Me/anyone that changed tf's for the better) death threats
hmmm I would LOVE to see a series made with entirely NEW characters (and in laaater seasons, introduce other old char's, mainly as references)
I desperately want Rodimus introduced in a series very early on and see him grow into becoming Rodimus Prime; like Cheetor on Beast Wars/Machines. I desperately want this IP to be able to stand without Optimus, Megatron, Bumblebee, and Starscream. Make this IP strong enough that you can have entire series without these characters. For example, Halo is strong enough that games that don't even feature the Master Chief are still fantastic. Copy that!
New story idea: Cons have taken over Earth and the core Autobots have been killed. Grimlock survives the attack and becomes leader of the few remaining Autobots. Megatron hands over the control to Earth to Soundwave, which Starscream protests. On the way out, Megatron drops Starscream's stasis locked body on the moon. With the Autobots reported gone, the humans are made into slaves by Soundwave. This Grimlock is smart, not the idiot take from GI and Animated. This could work, Hasbro still have the bots, cons, and humans with this. But it would have a different feel becauses the Autobots lost. Now the survivors have to regroup and battle back without Prime, Ironhide, Jazz, Prowl, Ultra Magnus, or Kup.
I like it we could have some lesser known characters like Tracks, Cliffjumper, Warpath etc. be the survivors and the series can progress with them finding more surviving autobots in order for Hasbro to promote new toys or something like that
