New Sony Marvel Spider-Man Movie Coming In October 2021 | What's On Disney Plus What movie would this one be? Spider-man 3? Kraven? Jackkpot? Who knows.
The thing with Superior Spider-Man is that Otto needs to have an arc leading up to it. Meaning logically he should have at least one film before he ends up with Peter's body. Or we get an animated film where they already have an established history and the movie opens with the body swap incident (kind of like Spider-verse opening with Peter as an established superhero that the whole city mourns after his death). But we're talking about Sony, their incompetence knows no bounds (see: the Madam Web movie).
The MCU connected one is already locked into July, so this would have to be something different. More than likely just another one of the shit solo villain flicks they're determined to keep making.
And if that is the case, which villain will it be that they are desperately trying to make work on their own? I recall they had plans for Black Cat and Silver Sable that previously fell through...Dear god they're not trying to revive that train wreck, are they? I will take a Spider-verse psuedo-sequel that follows up on Miguel.
If they're listening to the screaming internet nerds, it'll be Kraven. If they're still going with ideas they stuck on a wall and hit with a dart, it'll be that Madame Web rumor we heard about months ago. If they're following suit with the lameness of a non-Spider-Man-related comic relief buffoon Venom, or a Z-grade level villain that's a friggin' vampire played by Jared "Hot Topic Joker" Leto , well then the options are endless. My personal hope is that it would be someone of the same "who?!?" caliber ala Jack-O-Latern... or Vermin... Jackal/Carrion.
Yeah, her "glass ceiling" project as it's not so affectionately referred to. I wouldn't be surprised if she was still trying to make this happen.
