Another in a long line of aimless misfires. Kudos!
Intrigued to see where they go with the Deception thing ... Buuuuut not enough to overlook the mega hollow bits. Pass.
He looks cool but might get thé normal version cause its cheaper
It\'s disgusting that Hasblo would stoop so low as to put a main, non-repainted version of a character (the powerdasher) in a three-pack.
Shame on you, Hasblo.
That deco and the different head makes a big difference, though.
The Powerdasher is literally just the alternate repaint of Cog with a different head (and also barely a character).
I was about to say much the same, although of course Primalxconvoy meant that this Powerdasher is a "main, non-repainted version" of the character he actually represents: the G1 F-1 dasher.
In Hasbro's "defense," I can only say that I doubt they thought people would care quite so much about getting new Powerdashers. It's a cool bonus, but they're not exactly "characters" that even purists really know all that well.
While I could wish that they weren't given an entirely different gimmick (Weaponizers) vs. their original versions (when was the last time we had transforming robots with pull-back motors?), I'm amazed we're getting new versions of these characters at all.
And, truth be told, they're remarkably faithful to the original characters, given that they're repaints.
Aimless Misfire, as he was last seen:
I really wish they put this head on the Autobot version, it just makes more sense. Now we have to assume he switched from an awesome face to a mediocre one when he changed sides. Hell, his Autobot head looks more like a Decepticon and his Decepticon head looks more like an Autobot ffs! Still, I\'m sticking with the standard release. I\'m not paying for a 3 pack when only one of the figures appeals to me.
He's got the same thing going on as Slamdance, where they both are pretty good representations of the original G1 toy, but there's still a reason they ended up in multipacks instead of on their own.
See, I actually disagree re: Slamdance. I just can't get past the robot mode colors being flip-flopped.
Mainline release has clear plastic too.
I think putting the more recognized version in that 3 pack hurts me. Because I really don't want any part of that 3 pack. I'd be fine if the Marvel head sculpt was clean...but right now who knows?
See the IDW head is perfection. Immediately obvious.
But Marvel head looked like he was going to kiss someone initially.
But if I look closely at convention photos... there's hope
And honestly I’m glad they did him marvel style. There’re already great IDW Impactors. And it’s nice to have one which does something classic and different. And honestly, I like it way more than the IDW one. Like I wanna get him and I hope there’s a Mastepriece version. Looks so cool.
I really wish the IDW head was on the mainline version, but oh well. Hopefully some third party company can make an IDW head for the mainline release sometime down the road.
So delicious-looking! *slurping in mouth increases* Sooon!
is it weird that I might be planning on getting both Impactors an renaming the retail one?
O.O.... Okay, not as delicious anymore....
I’m gonna do the same except call the retail one Impactor and not get the second one.
What’re you gonna call the retail one?
Wow, I feel like an idiot. I didn't notice the one in the 3-pack came with a different head until now. At least you have a choice now for the ones bitching about his Marvel-ish headsculpt.
True, but while far from perfect his vehicle modes work at least. But either way he was the best they were going to do with just a repaint and a new head.
Probably Kiloton, since that was a nickname he went by in IDW. Still haven't settled on it, though.
Separate names with a comma.
