The "on the fly" transformations really add a lot to the game from the sound of it. I loved the last game (Iron Hide in the park level not withstanding), but this one looks to be a great step up.

You do know the version previewed in that video was for ps3/360/pc, right? The wii game doesn't play or look like that.

Yeah, the developer for 360/PS3 is not the same as the one for Wii/PS2.

the wii/ps2 developers can S a D-- it's gonna play like a kiddies game and won't have multiplayer. i say we boycott those versions until solid reviews come out.

as for ps3/xbox/pc... you guys are lucky. i'll have to get my bro or roommate to throw down... or if it's really good, consider buying a 360...

Um, the Wii and PS2 versions are being done by the guys who did the Armada game, which is the best Transformers game to date. So I'd wait for a review first.

I think Aerialbot is a pretty cool guy. He fights Decepticons and doesn't afraid of anything.

watching this game makes me dream of a G1 based game with a realistic and cartoon combined look to it, like mirrors edge for 360/PS3 with a game engine similar to Warhawk on PS3 (anyone who hasnt played that you must, a great multiplayer title) I'm not dissing this game or michael bays movies, as i really like the look of this and i like bays transformers but i always imagine a G1 multiplayer with all constructions, once certain XP game points in battle are gained you can merge with other players to become devastator, play as soundwave, control minons you can eject such as ravage, rumble, laserbeak with the classic "eject" comment from soundwave, multiplayer maps such as Autobot City, Vector Sigmas location, Quintessa, Junkion, Metroplex.

It might very well be considered the best TF game to date. But for me that is not saying much. I disliked that armada game as much as I did the first movie game. Both were quite boring, and I do not know what people liked so much about the Armada game as it was just as simple as the first movie game. Yes, your weapon was actually capable of hurting enemies, but the combat system was just as simple, if not even more simplified than TFTM game. The only cool part was being able to switch to a first person view, and transforming at will. I need something much more complex, because I may be a transformer fan through and through, but I am also an experienced gamer that needs something a little complex.

I think the ps3/360/pc games look like they are finally bringing something descent to the table, but I would not get my hopes up about the ps2/Wii game. It looks pretty rough. The graphics are choppy and the environments look hideously cartoony.

Remember, simple doesn't always mean it's bad. The Armada game was loads better then the first game, even though it did have it's flaws. No real reason to transform, no reason to pick anyone but Prime and environments that didn't benifit a vehicle mode being the only ones I can think of.

I'm optimistic about this game, it'll be at least worth the rental.

Well, from the previews it seems like transformation in ROTF has good purpose, because it not only can be used as an attack, but in the alt mode the bots could have much great mobility (obviously benefitting the aerial Transformers). It remains to be seen if only Prime and Megatron are good, but each TF has their own special attacks (like Ratchet's healing ability), so I think each have a specialty and strength/weakness. As for environment benefitting vehicle, from what I can see in the vids, environment definitely helps air units alot, since they can use buildings as their cover, for retreat and ambush.
