I'll argue it - FoC Rumble is Aligned, not G1. That is Hasbro's official position. As is Prime Rumble. All blue Rumbles that have actually been released at retail by Hasbro have been non-G1. Hasbro has never released a blue G1 Rumble at retail. The only official blue G1 Rumble toy by Hasbro is that Kre-on, which was a convention exclusive.

It's not difficult. I think the reason it becomes irritating is when the toy is called Rumble and people insist on calling it Frenzy. It creates confusion. If I'm talking about the G1 toon, I absolutely call the blue one Rumble. Because he was. In the US. But when someone says they want to buy Titan's Return Rumble, I'm gonna assume it's the red one because that's what it is. When they're on your shelf you can call them Frenzy, Rumble, Enemy, or Jorge. But when talking about a specific toy, call it by the name on the package so we're all on the same page.

It's never gonna happen, but... yeah.

My biggest beef is still with Laserbeak. He really needs more red. Go figure. Buzzsaw had too much yellow and Laserbeak is the opposite problem.

 

Sidestepping the issue of which color Rumble or Frenzy are supposed to be (and in this post I'm going to call the red one Rumble and the blue one Frenzy), I do wonder why they are releasing the Red one first. If Rumble and Laserbeak are coming in the same wave, they will be colored so similarly that they will blend. Plus, people will expect both Eject and Frenzy to come out before this line is done, they both have a lot of blue on them (meaning they will look similar to a lot of casual buyers), and will probably be in sequential waves. But whatever, it is Hasbro's line to sell to us (and Laserbeak does need more red).

For those of us who are sane, can we chip in and bribe the mods to ban people for bringing up that FIRRIB crap into news threads?

 

Good thing Hasbro colored Generations Rumble in his proper G1 toy colors. If this line is supposed to be a modern update to classic characters, this the only way to go.

Marvel and Sunbow were only subservient additions to the toyline. Existed only because of it.
Besides, one of them was ridden with animation errors, the second one had Nel Yomtov. Their credibility as a source material was dubious at best...

In the end Rumble in the cartoon could be olive green with orange polka dots and his comic book incarnation could be yellow with pink stripes, and the only thing that really counts still is what colors were on the toy that did originate the character.


But please, Hasbro, don't take ideas for repaints from this post. Just, don't...

 

I just hope we get Enemy, Rosanna and Flip Sides from the Frumble/Eject/Rewind mold. We never got all of them from the Scout mold and only Rosanna from the Perfect Effect mold, so I'm still waiting on these three.
