I was perusing around in Hasbro's transformer instruction section (which is the most horribly organized and god awful thing to navigate) and spotted some new figures that haven't been revealed yet. They are scout vs packs, and look to be part of the all encompassing "Transformers" line that's out now. They kind of reek of store exclusives.

The pics are in black and white, but you can get a feel for them at least
Blue Maximus (Westernization of Blue Bacchus perhaps?) is a ROTF Ransack...in what appears to be tiger stripes on the plane tail, leopard spots on the plane body, with possibly a shark face on the front of the plane...(WTF?)

I'm still searching to see if there's anything else newsworthy there. There are instructions for a few figures that aren't out yet (or are just coming out), but are known about (PCC Sledge, the new minicon single packs, a few of the newest ROTF figures) but didn't really think those were newsworthy

I assume these will be Walmart exclusives to go along with the ridiculous number of them still hanging around at full price - albeit with red tags - at the one near me.

 

Ah, that makes more sense. Though I wish it was a Blue Bacchus homage, heh. He looks nothing like the plane from that movie though, at least by the pics at the wiki

 

I can't see the shark teeth, but if it does have it, then it's a pretty common war plane decoration (since WW2, if I recall correctly).

Anybody know if this correlates with a historical fighter paint scheme?

 

While Wideload seems to be a pegwarmer, I really like the mold in general. Solid in both modes and the robot mode is posable. If the colors are good I'll probably grab both sets of these...

 

Scouts are quickly becoming the new Minicons to me. Can't get enough.

Cool stuff! You can't have too many repaints of that biplane mold. Too bad a Cybertron figure snuck in there.

Those images look strangely shopped to me.

 

Depending on the colors, may pick up Blue Max--I love that mold.

As for resemblance/naming---could just as easily be based more on Max Immelmann's plane, for which the Blue Max was nicknamed. (though he tended not to have lozenge-style camo, which the pic seems to show on the fuselage)

The Red Baron is of course, probably the most famous person to have earned the Blue Max award, but we've already got an homage for him.

 

I know. That's why I hate two packs. They invariably have something I don't want and feel a compulsion to get rid of it.

Dammit, they are turning that biplane mold into the next Seeker! Trying to get us to buy whole wings of it...I will resist temptation but I could hardly blame someone for biting.

The Blue Max...very nice. I have that movie, need to watch it again.

Interesting. I get the feeling Crosshairs is gonna be a G1 homage, but man I'm really tired of seeing Cybertron Scout figs. The first movie made me so very, very tired of these guys, and the newest batch of scouts only makes them look vastly inferior.
