Except it doesn’t
The Bronze-ish gold is appreciated, but the original was already covered in silver paint. Should have been rotf megs who actually needed it.
It does look better but I could just paint my original one if I wanted it to look more premium and save some money that way.
It actually does look identical aside from a few bronze touch ups, this megatron didn't really need it compared to ss 13 and ss 34 who could've been better
Takara PF release
Well, they're not the same...one is all silver and dark grey highlights and the other has a light silver wash and dark bronze highlights. But the degree in difference is where the value lies. Is it really worth the extra $$ to double dip? YMMV.
You can blatantly see premium has a weathering on it
takara believes so for their market and technically the folks on here are not their primary market.
While this is a cool figure, god damn this design just gets worse with age. Easily one of the worst redesigns Megatron ever received.
Never was a fan of this design honestly. It looks to me like a bunch of warped metal twisted together. I prefer his TLK look. Def an improvement.
Aside from the bronze and a bit of weathering they look identical.
You can keep saying that, but you aren’t going to be right 100% of the time. I’m certain I’ve seen you say that about every single product from Takara that gets some form of criticism.
At some point it’s going to be “this sold poorly? Earth simply isn’t their market!”
then maybe a trip to optometrist needs scheduled for ya
I do like the deco, but it's stil a subtle improvement over the original. I miiiiiight get it because I need the Prime that they will have in this line to replace the broken grill on my DOTM one, and my 07 Megatron had an un-cut sprue gate on his head so there's a small spot without silver paint.
Or you could lay off those funky mushrooms making you hallucinate
Yo, are the grills straight up breaking now? I knew the halves would separate in vehicle mode over time thanks to paint wearing off of the translucent plastic tab, but this is the first time I'm heard of a full-on breakage. Unless it was just bad luck on your end.
You know what? I really, REALLY like the gray Magnus inner bot and I don't even know why. Like, enough to buy it.
Shrug. Chalk up one confusing unlikely win for this line!
Megatron looks pretty great when you zoom in on the high resolution photos. The metal effect is subtle, but really well done. Certainly a step above a plain coat of paint.
Well I wouldn't worry, the other two Megatrons are likely on the short list for if/when Takara decides to do more Premium Finish figures.
Hell, pretty sure rotf megs was teased on that original list of premium figures. I can see DOTM one being on short list for more as well
