I was like ya - choosing between the 2 versions but after reading the horror stories of the metal version such as scratches,broken lions' legs and the difficulty in standing, I chose the plastic version.

However, I would to point out that the first production run had the more serious QC problems. The trick is identifying which is the 2nd production run.

 

Would only get the diecast MP Voltron if the prod # is over 7,000, to be safe
