Anyone know anything about this figure? It's supposed to be an 11" plastic version of the masterpiece Voltron. It's only $45 from BBTS. Anyone have anymore info or pictures?

I'd been wondering about this too, then saw this in the BBTS newsletter this morning:

"Toynami will be releasing an all-plastic version of the Lion
Force Voltron set priced at just $44.99! This version stands 11" tall and
is similar in form to the die-cast Masterpiece version, but is only 1/3
    the price!"

So I guess the answer is yes?

During the Toy Fair, Toynami was showing off a deluxe base for their Masterpiece Voltron that came with all sorts of flashy extras (don't know or care much about the details) and a thread was made here about it. At the same time they announced a plastic reissue of Voltron to coincide with it, rather than force fans to buy a second Voltron for the base alone.

This is that Voltron... about as far as the story goes.

I wonder if you can get better poses/playability with this version compared to the metal version..

i'm assuming because the other version is made with metals that it may be limited to what you can do with it as opposed to the plastic lighter version

I hate buying the same thing twice (or more), especially if the new one comes with more, and is better, but for that price, I'd be stupid to pass it up! :thumb

The metal version is pretty poseable but the weight of it does hinder it. You have to be extra careful when you pick it up since the legs like to clank together. I would guess an all plastic versions weight would allow for more variation.

I'll be grabbing the plastic version to play around with and the base to stick under my MP metal version.

i'm waiting to hear back from a3u if they will carry it or not. if so, i'll get it, but i refuse to import anything again due to high shipping costs and duty. A3u has better prices in USD than US shops anyway...

I hae the masterpiece version. I hae not had any problems with it but I have neer transformed it. It stays in combined mode all the time. I know some of the lions legs have snapped off. I hope this one has better quality control. At $45 it's hard to pass up.

I am also confused about the extra weapons. Does the new plastic version have the extra weapons or is it the newbase that comes with the extra lion weapons?

Just preordered. I had the diecast version and sold it off. It was top heavy and more of a display piece, as opposed to something you could play with.

The price point for the plastic version makes me very happy. :)

The lion weapons come with the base, along with the key. Plus it has lights and sounds from the show apparently.

I'm getting the base and the plastic version, both preordered now. I'll wait till I have them both in hand before deciding if I want to sell off my diecast one. It looks nice but the weight makes him a bit top heavy and inhibits posability.

Lets just hope this voltron doesn't have the same issues as some of its predecessor

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=164621

Someone posted that the issues were fixed in later batches. So maybe we don't have to worry.. but I wanted to throw this out there in case some of us love as much info as possible.
