Thats some filthy pornography there Kuma! I have those figures and love them, but i didn't go multiples like you! I have like one spare set of Defender/Steelcore/Assaulter MISB from the FPC days and thats it

FP/MT's lineup is actually quite expansive! I wish I had a table big enough to sprawl out the whole collection. Reminds me of the really REALLY old days when my buddies would bring our meager G1 collections together and have some epic battles in one of our living rooms. Damn. Nostalgia.

    on the other hand . . .

If anyone wants that Botcon/TF Source exclusive CLEAR Protector armor, I have an extra MISB set as well as the clear hotrod/optimus giftset that goes with it. Hit me up!

that's what MT CxD has done for me, plus it fits my nemesis prime niche that i love, sad to say but shadow scyther and shadow commander are slowing being replaced by mmc and mt figures shadow ghost and thunder erebus respectfully

they did a great job but none of it compelled me bcuz it didn't fit my niche, i do have ryu-oh bcuz i love beast combiners and i want the ninja/insecticons so that Arena has her army while on my dark counsel, while others have combiner teams, heck i've got FPJ bruticus upgrade bcuz i got a great deal on the whole set for about $75, then again every none beast combiner that i have is bruticus and i got them all at good deals, i did consider getting Dai-z for my counsel but it never came to be

TF Source has an "exclusive" set of the re-colored/remolded versions on sale indefinitely that you could scoop

But the G1 colored ones are real cool, i dig them. Making them ninjas was a neat take on the team

FP's upgrade sets were fantastic, but the reality is it's probably just as time-consuming to design around the restrictions of using a Hasbro mold as a base as it is to create something new from scratch AND your market is restricted to those that have/want the base figure

Going to stand alone let FP do some wonderful stuff, like Steelcore

Hell, their Munitioner/Explorer (Swindle and Blastoff) were miiiiiiles ahead of their time for combiner limbs. They were G1 as fuck, esp in there size. really felt like G1 toys ran through a modernization machine and gained better articulation but kept their squat, stumpy charm. Plus they gave Blastoff a sword/axe

By all means, I want arguing or attempting to sway you're preference, but rather responding to you saying they should have stayed with upgrade kits as the standalone pieces were their prime.

yuck, have no desire to own the armored brigade recolor i do wish they'd have made more ninja insecticons even if it meant reimagining some of the insects from bw like inferno

oh no arguments, i can't argue their prime height and the fall, it's a shame how things went down with ryu-oh and the dinobots, i liked those more than any other non-combiner dinobot group, espc with the driver/weapons

Any chance you have a better comparison pic of that unreleased FP Prime Armor alongside Manus? That armor would have been cool had it been released a few years back... Or... If they had given it smaller hands and a waist filler to fix the proportions.

Ugh... Seeing all that FPJ stuff... Wish they had done them Warbugs... Among other things.

The only comparison pics I have would be on their perspective reviews and I honestly don't remember if I shot one or not.

I agree on all counts. Especially considering that Ryu Oh had so much potential design-wise. It has a such a strong, imposing look but then plays so badly. The dinobots are my favorite versions too.

I like the Deluxe Insecticons better than the original colours - they actually look more like them in some ways than they do the original characters.

Shame no one made any more Insecticons based on the Dlx Insecticons/ beetras of the KO's based on beetras that had lots of other designs.
I still want that LadyBug bot

i would've totally been happy with Ryu-oh if it weren't for the permanent a-stance, that for me is the only UGH thing about him, his weapons are cool the bots and alt modes get the job done even if they do have a little Hastakomy look to them with the way most of the hands transform but i'm ok with it

Yep. They may have lost their way, hopefully temporarily, but their figures I have are still among my favorites of my collection.

After getting my Sideburn I was anxiously awaiting what I figured would be the inevitable blue release and I was going to pounce on it. I was also disappointed that it never came to be.

Funny people at bringing up the Armored Battalion. After years of admiring them, but not feeeling the premium price, I should be receiving my set today from the discount on TFS. so glad I will finally have them!

My Protector KO has done what KOs do and broke. Anyone seeking to trade him for PotP Rodimus, or just sell?

Major necrothread, following up on above post... someone is shilling a broken Protector on eBay, and it is NOT broken in the same places my KO is, and I am wondering if anyone has owned both KO and original and can say whether I could mix and match parts.

Should work fine, I didn’t notice any molding differences when I had an official red and ko black

Digging up a quick review I did 5yrs ago since I had both:

    1. The 3 yellow fin pieces didn't fit/peg in the trailer mode. Kinda just hung there with friction.
    2. The plastic definitely felt like a KO. Confirmed when I got a real one.
    3. The armor pieces didn't fit right. Any posing and the pieces fell off.
    4. Paint on the fists was just splattered on.
The KO does come with extras like a maroon scythe that was for the shadow version and the Sidearm targetmaster. But my KO Sidearm was all black and forearms at the elbows refuse to stay on and just fall off. Also doesn't clip on the spoiler of either of my Rodimuses in gun mode. Might on the original Classics only but the authentic one has no issues.
Maybe there was a 2nd release of KO that was good? But mine was crap.
