Yes. In fact, since my neighborhood is still very much under construction, I practically trip over cement mixers, front-loaders, and small cranes on a daily basis. And no, they are not that big. Not much bigger than semi trucks, certainly, and in no way bigger than mobile rocket launchers. Or even F15 planes.

TF vehicle modes have never EVER been to scale. At best, we can hope for robot modes that are somewhat to scale. And individual Constructicons were always shown to be the same size as other Decepticons, or slightly smaller. Devastator himself has varied greatly in his portrayals.

Thanks for the info guys!! Makes more sense now. I don't disagree that a Crossfire-03 for Devastator would sell like hotcakes, however, you can't deny that Fansproject sold a heck of a lot more add-on sets for Superion and Bruticus since these were recently re-issued. I know that Classics Devastator was technically the "re-issue", but that was way before all these add-ons started coming out. What that probably means is, is if you want to buy the Crossire-03 add-on kit (assuming it is for classics devastator) and you are not lucky enough to already have one, then the secondary market for these will be at an amazing premium (forget the $90 for the ROTF Bruticus). I bet that set would go for way over $100 which is bad news for some of us. In addition, I doubt people bought as many Classics Devastator or Energon Constructicon Maximus as there were Bruticus or Superions, therefore, lower numbers means less sales for Fansproject in my mind. Unless people just buy the add-on set without owning Devastator. I don't know, I am just thinking aloud about all this stuff. And what else could Crossfire-03 be for than for Devastator, right?

It's not Devastator, and it's not an add-on.

    TRUTH.

That's why CHUG figures cannot really be considered to be in appropriate scale with each other... even remotely. There are really a few different rough scales at work, so obviously missile carriers and F-15's are not really at issue here.

Assuming a Deluxe figure is, by default, a normal sized Autobot car, Prime and Megs should be Voyager-to-Ultra. FP Bruticus is nice and large when combined, but still way small by any other measure. I know I'm not alone in wishing that TFs were molded in appropriate relative sizes more often.

In the media, combiner components are often shown to be smaller than other Transformers... this is really nothing more than the size of the toys influencing us... and now that we've moved beyond the patchwork collection that was G1, I think it's natural to want toys that will look better and more in scale when displayed with each other. I loved my G1 TFs, but even as a kid it bugged me that Shockwave was bigger than Devastator.

Construction vehicles ARE huge, in general... and yes bigger than mobile rocket launchers like ROTF Onslaught. But there is some variance here. The original G1 Constructicons, if you dig up their most likely real-world counterparts, tend to be smaller construction vehicles (Long Haul being the notable exception)... perhaps more in line with stuff that would have been used in local Japanese urban construction sites. Since then however, they are often interpreted by fans, artists and toy designers as the larger versions of each vehicle type... which leads to a perception that Devastator must be even more enormous.

Either way, ANY version of ANY Constructicon should be much larger than a typical Autobot car, so I'm of the opinion that each Constructicon should be AT LEAST a Deluxe, if not larger... and that Devastator should rightly tower over other bots. This is even born out in the Constructicon Tech Specs... they're all abnormally strong, so I welcome an interpretation that portrays them all as larger-than-average TFs.

been waiting for updates on this Dev project. Was hoping for a little bit more, maybe a new constructicon since we've seen this guy for what seems like about 6 months...makes me wonder how far along with the others they are (or arent).
