So I just picked this up today and decided to share some clearer pictures of this figure. Not sure if this will still be released by Fun Pub but its definitely the PRID mould of the Arcee figure done up in Transmutate colours. This might be a test shot of the figure that they scrapped and went with the FE version. The figure did not come with any tech spec card and just has the blade weapon and did not come with the Arcee gun. This could still come out but it would be strange to release this so soon after the recent TFCC figure went up for sale. One strange thing is that the figure came in a Botcon 2013 baggie. Personally, I like this mould better then the FE mould, anyways enjoy the new pics.
Hrm. You know, while I'm sure it's probably a test somehow related to Transmutate, I can't help but think there was another maximal female who used the yellow/gold/teal coloring. If you squint hard enough, it almost vaguely works as Botanica. Especially if it had some green paint apps...
I could have sworn this was leaked a few days ago along with Flamewar, and was also on that same list that mentioned the Apelinq repaint from 10th anniversary Primal.

Transmutate could get rebuilt in the comics, so this could represent her new for. Seems like a long shot, but it could work...
I'm thinking it's a factory mixup, given the Botcon 2013 baggie and that this is so obviously Transmutate. Basically the factory does a test run of 20-30 Transmutates using the wrong mold. Pete and Brian get the samples, and Pete turns around and says "sorry, we wanted the FE not the RID". The error samples get junked, and a few end up leaking out. I think you'll find that is all it is - I find it extremely unlikely the TCC would do a second exclusive almost identical to their Transmutate since it'll devalue their own exclusive.
God I hope this is a BotCon 2014 exclusive. I'd be rolling. It'd also be extremely interesting to hear their explanation.
I'm holding off buying Transmutate from the club store until this all clears up during Botcon. I don't need two versions of the same character with near identical decos.
My guess is that its close, except that FP never got these toys ever. Pete said so on All spark back when the image first leaked that all their samples were of the FE mold.
Makes a ton of sense...BUT, it's pretty damning that Fun Pub has been completely silent on the matter for weeks now. Silent because this really is a legit Attendee exclusive and they never reveal those ahead of time. Or staying silent to delay the inevitable shitstorm, or hoping it gets lost or forgotten amongst all the usual Botcon chaos.
I like it...It does not seem like a factory reject (meaning QC failure) aside from it being the different mold than what FP wants...The tampo looks sharp and well painted... I'd like to get one personally to stick on my shelf next to TF movie gunbarrel and reverb The Transformers that never were meant to see retail...
I broke down and got one off ebay....so once i have it....If i get the "official TRANS-MUTATE" thru FP then i will do pictures of both side by side....
my PRID transmutate came in today....looks exactly like the picture at the beginning of the post. came in the botcon 2013 baggie, one blade weapon....no rifle. The maximal tampos are as sharp as the ones on Rhinox or airazor. those are the only two other botcon maximals i have to compare the sigils too. Joints are nice and tight and it has a good paint job. In august i'm going to get the transmutate off the store if its still in stock and will do some side by side pictures. actually it being the PRID will work better with flare-up being the same PRID mold.
