That's pretty sleek but I think I prefer the American version. Oddly enough, with Animated, the American toys are painted MUCH more show-accurate Case in Point: Bulkhead and *roll eyes* Ironhide. Bumblebee Starscream ( though to be fair, Starscream has a really good paint job. not show accurate, but very g1-ish. I like it)
The thing is, all the Animated toys are painted to look like the models with matte finishes. So Takara made them all shiney because they either don't care or (more likely) don't understand it, like other more subtle things in Animated. OR as I just thought, to make them different from the American releases?
I seen him before also, convention pictures and for sale on websites. Japanese Transformers Animated - TA30 Autobot Blurr - Transformers Animated Japanese Figures
I was hoping he'd get packed in with a "Compactor Mode" cube. Seems like an oversight that such a thing hasn't been 3rd partied yet. I mean jeez, it'd just be a tiny blue cube right? But, yeah.. this fig came out awhile ago: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...nimated-july-releases-inc-sons-cybertron.html
Yeah, he came out in the last week of July, so this isn't really any big news. Cool pics though, thanks for sharing. They're from the Higemura toy blog, right? I recognize the lego board thing. I believe Reprolabels make a sticker that can be put on a regular six sided die that does a great job of recreating the weighted Blurr companion cube.
I want to say the latter, since Animated was pretty much Hasbro's baby, and they wanted their version to stand out. (In a way it is just like how the title sequence was completely redone.)
