No sword again? Oh well, Shapeways already has 4-5 inch long Studio Series 86 Slag Sword available!
It would be cool if this Slag toy could flip his chest open and pull out his gun like in the cartoon.
Not to throw salt on the wound but in addition to the physical and painful shock of being shot full of holes, he likely overheated and fried his mainframe and bluescreened. So he essentially had a robotic aneurysm and went brain dead before going out. Least that's the way it looks to me and why I have PTSD flashbacks to childhood everytime I see it.
Here is the Snarl Trailer!
For those of you talking about Snarl not being in the 1986 TF Movie. He was in the movie and most of his scenes were cut out. The original Theatrical Trailer shows Snarl in it a few times, and a lot of cut out scenes. I love this Trailer, a lot of G1 goodness that I wish had been finished for an extended cut edition. The battle planned at Autobot City was going to be even more epic than we got. But budget issues equaled cuts from the movie like anything else.
I would rate this movie better than most if not all of the TF Lore in existence. G1 was never allowed to reach it's full potential and it's story was never finished, and it still blew the socks off of other toy brands and cartoons in the 80's. And the new toy action figure market was a lot more competitive in the 80's than it is now. I think that plays a part in why it remains so popular around the world. There is no Transformers movie better than this, and it wasn't even complete! And yet it is still the most bad ass cartoon film ever made!
This film is considered a Cult Classic! No Transformers series since then is considered that, this is why Studio Series 86 is selling so well. This is why G1 is always having toys made. And this is something the younger fans never seem to understand.
A lot of Fan's hunger for the story of G1 to be finished, and the "what might have been" if the movie had a budget big enough to make the entire movie that was intended to be made.
People are also mentioning the two common appearances of Snarl at Autobot City, but he also appeared in the Quintession ship. (Though, you have to pause at the right time)
It's when the ship was landing on Junkion, and he's in robot mode too.
Show of hands: how many people aside from me would consider buying a Generations toy-accurate version of G1 Ironhide in the black color scheme from Diaclone?
Nah, the other 3 are in stealth mode. We can’t see them, but they’re there, laughing at us.
Oh hey! And I found swoop!
Dunno if it\'s been said already but is that exosuit figure the same one as what came with that recent Bumblebe figure?
Was just looking for this pic
So what's the word on the white thighs? A cartoon thing?
edit: ah, so it is, I just checked. Nice.
Actually that was Scavenger and it just adds a layer of humiliation to his death. Prowl was the Autobot's Second-in-Command and here he is getting killed and rather painfully by someone who is generally considered a loser by the other Decepticons.
I understand (and hate) they had to make room for new toys, but come on at least let them die with some dignity.
WHOA! How have I never seen this?! Autobot City preparing for battle seems so much more amazing in this for some reason. Also, do my eyes deceive, or is Ultra Magnus was sporting a decidedly “Delta” look in this trailer?
Thanks for the share. I’ve watched it like 12 times already!
That was before they chose the classic white and blue deco for Ultra Magnus.
Anyone notice Slag doesn't have forearm gaps...
Remember Jango Fett, he had less dignity, at least we got to see Prowl's last moment. Wheeljack didn't get that.
I'm curious about what you think of the deaths in the live action movies then.
Optimus and the Autobots in the cartoon: Absolute beef cakes who can dish out and take a bunch of damage.
Optimus and the Autobots when they stub their toes in the movie:
No problem, glad you liked it! I love it when I can show stuff like this to people for the first time
If it brightens just one person's day, or makes just one person realize just how special Transformers: The Movie really was to an entire generation, it's totally worth it.
I thought Jazz was second in command, maybe Jazz was just Prime's right hand man, er bot.
The animation mistakes that were apart of the G1 cartoon was extended to the movie it seems. If Snarl was indeed to be apart of the Dinobots in the movie as he should've been then the animators either forgot about him or couldnt find a way to include him in every scene involving the Dinobots.
