I know right? I keep trying to zoom out on the pictures to see the whole team but it's not working.
I think it depends on how different they are from the other Dinobots. If they make toy-colored Slag or Swoop and use the same silver and gold colors they’re currently using, I think there would be a good number of people happy to get one or both as alternatives.
If they lean harder into toy accuracy and use chrome and a different silver plastic, that could lead to some frustration if we’ve all already bought at least Grimlock and would hypothetically have to double dip to get the aesthetic we prefer.
86 Prowl would have a huge hole in his chest.
Not in the few moments where he was alive (and I guess they could always make yet another release where that happens).
At least Slag’s name is okay. I was worried for a second there.
Tell that to the people asking for SS86 Prowl and Optimus. And yes I know why ok? You completely missed my point.
Just wanna toss in my two cents. I know I'm just going by rumors and annecdotes, but it seems to me that SS86 is doing better than Hasbro expected, and there seems to be this weird thing (including by people who should know better) that SS86 is the "ultimate" version, and its ok to pass on the Kingdom figures because they'll do that SS86 magic on another version. I know, it's bullshit, and it ignores the fact that figures like Cyclonus and Huffer are way better (IMO) than Jazz, Kup, or Blurr. The point is some folks are not buying the toys in Kingdom but would in SS.
We also know from the past that Hasbro will cash grab any new line by tossing in old molds from the prior line with a new paint job and maybe minor remolding. Think Beast Machines Dinobots or Armada Beasts. We also know that they have sometimes pulled "premium decos" of prior figures in order to milk a mold.
So while I am not predicting it, I also would not be shocked to see Hasbro try to keep SS86 going by re-releasing some figures like Prime or Cyclonus or Bumblebee. Could they really improve them? I'm sure they can find ways to tweak the paint - just look at what they did with Netflix Megatron or Prime. Hell, for a number of characters they just need to remove the battle damage.
The other thing they could do is what was reportedly done with a number of SS86 figures already, and that's remove the COMBAT ports. Nice clean stacks for Prime, Sideswipe could have an intact roof, etc. And you know if they did that, some people would just lap it up.
Sorry, only this version will be available:
So I guess snarl is not in the 86 movie bummer for people who were goin to go all ssndinobots hope kingdom fills the gap
I always hated Prowl's death.
Yeah, been hearing he was cut from the team, but I’ll bet they make an exception.
His death was pretty gruesome, your gif pretty much sums it up why.
He IS in the movie.
Seeing it over and over like that, it looks like Scrapper got a lucky shot that hit his spark case and ignited the innermost energon.
Because it's literally all the same line, Generations. SS86 only exist as a way to keep SS on shelves until there are more movie bots to sell
Yeah, I'm not stressing where HasTak puts out Snarl, cause you know they will. Its not like they are gonna pass up free money. If they do 4 they will do 5. Snarl will either be mainline or SS either "because he was in two scenes" or "we don't really care that much, give us the dough and no one gets hurt" like SS Thundercracker.
I have a feeling there will be exclusive toy variations of many of these.
I want a Toy version of Optimus where the front grill forms his abs and the bumper becomes his pelvis.
Same with previous movie figures and their SS redecos.
If SS86 is successful you can sure as hell bet that they're going to extend it just like Classics.
I could really go for a Core Class Wheelie.
You know, this kind of gets at something I've wanted for a while: a modern line that returns to the aesthetics of the g1 toys. Where the proportions aren't perfectly humanoid, and they look kind of stumpy and awkward and alien. Just with more posability. I suppose "G1 box art: the toyline" is what I'm wanting here.
