Exactly. And me I'm a HUGE Sideswipe fangirl. I WILL pass this up if the price is well beyond what the figure is really worth. I'll save my money and commission an awesome radicon to make me one that is bigger.

Sideswipe looks kinda small if that photo of it in front of MP-10 holds true. More like the classics size.....better not be $150.....cuz Ill still buy it, but it better not be lol

I don't get the whole "it's cool for iGear to charge $100 - but who the eff does Takara think they are" thing.

I think it pretty much comes down to takara is a multi-million dollar corporation, and igear is a small time co. So igear has to charge more for there figs to recoup cost, while takara (being the larger company) should be able to charge less. Lately the price gaps have been becoming much closer to each other. Case in point, $159 for a voyager sized fig? Although BBTS says subject to change, it will probably not be cheaper than 100 bucks. Big time pass for me, I will have to wait for a us release  

 

Because you're not reading. Igear does things fans want. Like the seekers no hip kibble and better paint.

If and I'm not saying Igear will do one but if they did they would probably make sideswipe bigger. Igear makes the money worth it usually.

Sideswpe from takara at this height is not worth more then 80 bucks.

Really? How do you not get that.

The arguement was always that 3rd party companies have limited resources and such, that is why the prices they charge are so high, and Has/Tak prices are so low.

So if that remains true, then Has/Tak is just price gauging the collector. So that is where that comes from.

 

But Sunstorm and Starscream are two different characters and they share the same MP-11 tag. I do not think TT will go up a number for a bot with the same transform like Red Alert even if the only difference between the two is the head sculpt and the fandoms out cry of wasted MP slots for repaints. But I guess we will wait and see.

But more I look at MP-13 I think it is Soundwave, just look at the shape of its shoulders and forearms.

 

Sideswipe's scale is accurate to the cartoon.

Yes and if you read what I typed, Sunstorm is an exclusive to amazon. I am sure they did that for a reason dealing with the fact it is an exclusive.

Red Alert will have his own number just like Sunstreaker or Soundwave or whoever. And again, i could be Red or it could be Soundwave I can see Red there and I can see Soundwave there. It's a pretty ambiguous mass of black. So we will just have to wait and see.

 

Even though they're different characters, the reason that Sunstorm is MP-11S is due to it being an exclusive. Same with Black Prime (MP-01B) and comic-colored Grimlock (MP-08X).

Skywarp & Thundercracker were repaints/different characters, and each had their own numbering since they were mass releases.

The silhouetted figure could in fact be a repaint of MP-12 Sideswipe (say, Red Alert) and even though it's a repaint, it would have it's own numbering (MP-13) because it's an officially mass released item.

First thing - a smart company charges what it can, not what it costs.

That said, it costs Takara the same to produce a product in the limited quantities taht it does Igear, if not more because HasTak prolly pays it's designers better. Plus HasTak has that pesky cost of maintaining and defending its IPs.

As for the reasons stated by LamboLove, that is cracked. The not-Vans are close to the same size as this guy. The seekers are in production because HasTak didn't release the coneheads, plus they costs just a little bit less than MP-11.

 

I think there's probably not much if about it, unfortunately.

 

I agree, this will come out of Japan much closer to $100.
I would put a domestic release at ~$50.

 

haha ok, no i was not part of that. I have to say though, that the image looks looks exactly like mp12 only without a shoulder canon....(which is me conceited about it not being sunstreaker)

 

they give repaints, new MP#s.
MP-02 was ultra magnus. repaint of mp-01, but a new character therefore new mp-#.
same with the seekers, skywarp and thundercracker.
as for sunstorm, he is an exclusive repaint of a MP not a full release.
