You know, Takara rarely paints grey/silver plastic either, so I don't see why Hasbro's is such a massive, soul-destroying revelation that is intended to be a cheap and nasty insult to Hasbro's customers.

Both companies have not been painting silver where possible for years, and yes, using pictures of fully-painted prototypes on their packaging. Look at Galaxy Force - totally painted prototype photos.
