We've updated our Hasbro Photo Archive with even more new images, this time of Cybertron Primus and Cybertron Metroplex, both in and out of package. You can see the hi-res versions in our Hasbro Cybertron Gallery.
How many Primuses are people planning to get. I think I will get 2; One for playing/ posing and 1 for MISB.
Looks like Hasbro completely redid the stock photos for Metroplex as compared to the old ones. Toy accuracy > super glossy fake "metallic" airbrushed nonsense.
Except the airbrushed pics are always the ones that end up on the back of the packaging. Take Soundwave for instance, the "stock photos" we've seen (the ones released alongside Repugnus's and Shortround's) were NOT airbrushed and were more toy-accurate like the ones we're seeing with Metroplex, but if you take a look at the pics on the back of Soundwave's box, they are different, air-brushed and glossy, photos. So I doubt these new pics we're seeing of Menasor, Metroplex and Primus will be the ones to make it on the back of the packaging.
heres a pic i took to help you decide whether to get Metroplex or not http://flickr.com/photos/reignfire/114377197/
Im actually really glad the got the gf version of both. I really like the collectors cards that came withthem. they go well in my bio books
From an artistic standpoint, I love the othe style better than the straight up photos. They just look so much nicer.
I hope they end up using them on the back of the packaging instead of those metallic looking ones. That way we can know exactly how it'll look instead of opening it to find that it has a few less paint apps than the back of the box.
I hope what we're seeing here marks the beginning of a new trend. Packaging design is always done a few months in advance of stock photos being sent out to online retailers, so there's a chance future waves might indeed revert to the "realistic" look on the packaging.
I'm really digging Metroplex's overall color scheme compared to Megalo Convoy. It's much more unified and appealing.
Folks: Very interesting. Nothing earthshaking here, but I notice they pushed his shoulders forward to give him a less gappy vehicle mode, as we saw on the prototype that was recently on Ebay. They aren't pushed all the way forward on the show, though, are they? What we have here, then, is an 'official unofficial' transformation...
