How do they decide who to make into a masterpiece? I'm not saying it is bad (though it is nowhere near my to get list) but this seem to me yo just come out of no where.

They are doing the 2007 movie cast first.

Hasn't it been pretty obvious that they are doing the Movie 1 cast?

He looks pretty spot on. Good proportions, maybe a little chunky in the upper body, but that's gonna happen with this design if you want to get all the kibble in the right places, which this figure looks like it does. He lacks paint in robot mode (par for the course on these mpms) but his alt mode has blessed painted rear details and a ton of paint apps around the top edges

He looks to share a lot of engineering with the Dotm/Studio Series deluxe Ratchets. The way the legs fold up with the vehicle panels against the lower legs especially, and how the chest and arms spin into position. That isn't necessarily a bad thing. While the quality on that deluxe design has never been great and the backpack never collapsed very well, it's a solid design with a good transformation and pretty close proportions. I'm okay with the mpm borrowing engineering from that version.

However I do see a few areas I wish were better designed. In bot mode, the leg kibble is fine, it collapse flat and sits out of the way on the lower legs. But I wish his hip wheels were a little better integrated. They kinda just sit on the outside of his hips, the little panels that flip outside the wheels don't do much to replicate the wheels being inside his hips like the cg model. Mpm Ironhide did that particular detail better. I feel like his hood/chest cage should've had a few bits on the sides that fold away in bot mode to give the impression that it shrinks like it does in the cgi. And about the backpack, considering how square the vehicle is, it should be able to fold up super tight, and I wish they would have compressed it into his chest like they did with mpm Bee to keep his back a little cleaner.

Edit: and going back to look some more, that alt mode kibble is rough

I wish Black Apple wasn't stopping at Ironhide, because this guy is like most of the moms, he's almost there

So, it’s up for pre-order on the Target website, but does anyone know if you can actually pick this guy up at Target in the store? Would it also be the same for Starscream? Not sure how they’re gonna do that so if anyone knows, that would be dope

He\'s not bad looking for a studio series figure, but to be honest I have 3 Bumblebee,Hot Rod and I forgot the other ones name who may be a Decepticon. Not really happy with the plastic they are made with. Feels cheap for the $20 I spent on each one. I rather stay with POTP,War for Cybertron,Earthrise and Netflix versions and the reissued G1 figures.

IT'S LIKE THE GUY THAT PAINTED THE DOORS FORGOT THAT THEY WERE DOING THE TFTM COLORS AND NOT DOTM WTF XD

The autobot symbol isn't even the right symbol!
    reeeeeeeeeee.png

it's like they WANT us to wait for the KOs... i hate being in this position...

EDIT: so the official transformers page has confirmed that the paint will be fixed. Supposedly. I still stand by my statement on kos though XD

Absolutely looks the part in both modes. However, as someone else alluded to, I've always been soft on Ratchet as a Bayverse character. His alt mode looks great if boring and his bot mode (to me) just looks like a bunch of sharp metal bits jammed together with fog lamps on the front. I will say though that the stop-motion video was done very well and felt like a slice of the 2007 movie. If anything were going to convince me that I need this Ratchet is was that video.

Looks pretty good given that this is only like Ratchet's fourth mold!

Minor thing, but did Robert Foxworth record new lines for this vid? I don’t think I remember hearing Ratchet with those lines in any media
