I love the robot mode. The robot mode is awesome. But omg yes, the spoiler-wall at his rear; it's just such an awful design! I don't mind the translucent plastic either, it's just that spoiler-wall. It's hard to believe that something this implausible could get a pass from the design team. Like with the seekers, I'm still getting it on the strength of the robot mode design.

 

Love this new Mitrage. Mirage was my first Autobot technically (I had a black Diakron Ironsides first) but I alsways loved this G1 toy. When Generatioms came out I really liked that mold but I think this is a much better look.

 

Yup people try to find excuses but this thing looks as cheap as it gets. At least the alt mode. Robot mode no complaints. But I'm fair to all figures.
Hound isn't my fav alt mode either but his robot mode is gorgeous. Does Mirage make it to that level? No... But is close.

 

Robot mode yes alt mode CW wins hands down. Not even trying. I don't dislike cybertronian alt modes but this doesn't look more advanced or techy. It looks like a cheap plastic pull back car from the 1euro bin.
Just bit bigger. And there is the issue. Ironhide was on the border fence already, Mirage jumped over.
We already know how cybertronian modes should look like. Wheeljack Bumblebee, the Fembots Soundwave in lamppost mode. Mirage just doesn't meet that standard. Thry could have made him look more like blurr but with a big spoiler and front wings. Failed opertunity tbh.

Geez!! They're releasing Springer, Jetfire, Astrotrain, Apeface, Crosshairs, Spinister, Omega Supreme, and Mirage!! Just for remainder of this year!! I can't even begin to imagine the line-up for next year!! Definitely can't wait though!!

 

I'll admit I dont really have turbo fox in this fight as I'm a MP collector but I cant help but feel that the old classics Mirage did it better all around.
It's not bad just nothing definitively better imo.

 

Probably next year. With Piranacon, and a new Leader-sized Powermaster Optimus Prime. Also, they may give us some of the lesser-known Headmasters and Targetmasters.

Ya i noticed Springer, who i been messing around with since Friday isnt in the same class quality as Prime, Megs, Soundw, Scream, or Shocks And when i saw Mirage i thought the same thing as you. Plus I am also easy to please. So im sure ill buy Mirage & like him well enough

Maybe when FansToys creates a Mirage Hasbro will semi-copy like they did with Jetfire + Springer & bolster up a better deluxe. But I been wondering if the quality of Siege will dip like wave 1 & 2 Combiner Wars vrs. wave 4 & 5. (Esp* wave 1 without the comics thats SOLID ASF Superion).

i will definitely buy Siege Mirage.

 

Pretty decent, better than Prowl but still short & wide. Theyre getting there.

I like and encourage updating alt modes and bot modes (I'm not a G1 purist) but Mirage is probably one of those that, outside of taking the G1 figure as is and adding articulation to it, is always going to look "off" to me. The toy was wide and blocky, with a specific profile. But with Hasbro using the newer, sleeker F1 racers, they're never really going to be able to hit that.

Potp Jazz would've been a perfect remold for Mirage to me and I kept hoping they'd do it but nada.

Re: the rest. I'm probably not the one to say anything on that as I thought the quality was consistent throughout the trilogy. I bought so many figs from those three lines

 

Agreed! It gives me hope that we could see the likes of Jazz, Sunstreaker, Wheeljack, Trailbreaker etc. Any of the classic G1 bots and hopefully some cool surprises!

Yeah new toys are awesome. I like new toys not sure about consistency as POTP and Titans Return were junk. Thats why Hasbro upped the quality. Question is for how long? Lol. But generally speaking all 3 of the trilogy were the same yout right. Except did you ever get the 1st wave of Airealbots withOUT the comics, before they hit retail? They were nice and solid plus Silverbolt was available with Optimus Prime i believe.

Luckily Siege is awesome quality! Esp* Siege Megatron Optimus Prime Soundwave & Shockwave. They are comparable to the 2006 Classics (which i still have wave 1-3 sealed in the cases  )
