Robot in the cartoon is a red square
Title is "Takara is making the robot in the cartoon"
Third party made a red rectangle
Takara made a red square because the robot in the cartoon is a red square

"Takara and his stupid proportions, you all are fanboys"

    Ok

Good, dont get me wrong, I dont mind 3p stuff, more variety and choice is good for the consumer and its not bad for TT either as they can glean market knowledge on what will and wont sell but FansToys practice of rereleasing figures for double their original price is horrible IMO.

Takara wins easily already silhouette & proportion-wise.
Especially the torso section and lower legs are superior on the Takara version.

Considering it's more toon accurate and FansToys has diehard fans that swear by them over anything, no it's not. :lol

I've bought 3P, sport. That dog won't hunt.

The problem is 3P fans feeling obligated to drop in and try to sell people on the IP theft as if they wouldn't already be aware of it if they wanted one.

I say if again and again, and we saw it with Studio Cell. HasTak lets 3P slide, but if you want to force their hand keep trying to use 3P to talk others out of official product.

    Not true.

Even Fans Toys Quakewave (Shockwave) is now selling for 200 plus again. One was sold for 275.00 just a week ago on eBay. And that's like FT's oldest figure.

A new FT Rogue (Arcee) sold for 250 + shipping recently.

Perfect ridiculous G1 toon proportions, looking forward to the final product but not the price I can just imagine going to be maybe 350+ but hey that’s like paying Fanstoys after market prices lol

This thing is going to be two inches taller than magnus, this probably means it'll probably be 299.99 or around that price point PSX_20210513_095857.jpg

It won't really be skyfire unless it comes with a gerwalk mode.

He needs a few tweaks (mostly to the legs and wings) to be more accurate but he looks good so far. I love the arms on this one. I didn't think he would be towards the front of their list but here we go.

Well, that looks awful. I was never a fan of the Skyfire design in general but FT Phoenix and Siege Jetfire still managed to make it look pretty good by fixing the proportions and making him look less bloated. This takes all the worst aspect of the cartoon design and exaggerates them while minimizing anything that was cool about it. I've disliked pretty much every overly-toon-accurate MP figure but this definitely takes the cake as ugliest of all. Even the second MP Bumblebee at least looked kind of cute.

Wow, sticking Kronos with the MP-1 eras (not ideal for scale, but this way I have a Skyfire opposite Quakewave/Shockwave, let alone the whole wrong size of MP-8), Phoenix with the MP-9/10 eras and now Skyfire for the MP-36+ boys.

Yeah but Cell was shown at the exact same time as the Haslab Unicron fundraiser, this is the exact opposite. You really think people who have known about Phoenix will now suddenly not get this guy cause a few guys said the product that has a large aftermarket price is better? If anything it's Hasbro's own Skyfire that may cause some people not to buy.

Besides it's a toy forum. People are allowed to say that they don't like a product or prefer one over the other, 3p or otherwise. Most people generally use them as comparisons instead anyway.

so ummm that prototype must be OLD. it predates when mp-44 was in prototype stage i guess as they use mp-10 there. also i hope its that devoid of anything resembling details because its an early block proto. now i don't think it needs to be siege jetfire but its got to have more than that. proportions look more "accurate" than phoenix but one thing i notice is they are STILL using single character model stills to infer geometry. no his collar to shoulders wouldn't slope down that much...the art is as if you are looking up at him. just like megatron's legs and primes legs aren't supposed to be as long as mp-36 and mp-44's. and megatron's torso isn't supposed to be that short. i feel like they want to design the bot as if you're always looking up at it even when you aren't. kinda dumb.

also this size looks right to me. phoenix seems too big but i'm not sure how much smaller this is...looks dacatoys sized to me ...which would be the right size.
