Paramount has given a date for a new live-action Transformers movie of June 24, 2022.

The studio is in development on two different projects: one by Murder Mystery scribe James Vanderbilt and the other by John Wick Chapter 3 EP and Army of the Dead scribe Joby Harold. The Vanderbilt project, from what we’ve heard, is based on Transformers spinoff Beast Wars which are robots that transform into robotic animals like Cheetor (Cheetah), Optimus Primal (Gorilla), Rhinox (Rhinoceros) and more. The other is reportedly in the Bumblebee universe. It’s not definite yet which one will make it to production.

My only thoughts about this is whatever project gets the greenlight will determine the vintage reissues that year.

The script is in development for both but only of them will move on. The other one will either be on the backburner or thrown out. So yes, only one of them will have this date (assuming plans don't fall through).

The Franchise is looking at a bright future with 3 new movies let\'s just hope it proves successful unlike previous movies and hope the team creating this are actual fan unlike the previous director who didn\'t like transformers at all

Interesting, will keep an eye on this. Hopefully something good comes of it. The News post claims Joby Harold was the 'scribe' for John Wicke 3 when he was only the producer as far as I know.

Ugh. The Bee reboot was at least passable but the Snake Eyes movie is looking like hot garbage made by idiots who fundamentally don't understand the character. Can't say I'm really looking forward to a reboot if that's their first entry.  

 

Only 1 of them will make it into production, what nooooo why not both  

 

Oh my God. Beast Wars or a Bumblebee sequel!? HOW COULD YOU CHOOSE!?

Next they're going to say that either an Animated or Lost Light movie (but not both) will happen.

 

Budget.

 

I’m assuming if both scripts are decent, one will get the 2022 release and the loser will get scheduled for a later date.

Personally I think it’d be a mistake to not do a Bumblebee sequel next.

 

Given the severe lack of marketing for Beast Wars, I think we pretty much already know which one is going to be green lit.

 

I’m assuming “only one will make it” refers to release date, because it’s fairly obvious they wouldn’t abandon the sequel to the first well received TF movie in a decade over a movie about beast wars. That and it would be a waste of time and money to write 2 movies and only pick one and scrap the other completely.

 

Oh please let it be for the Bumblebee Movie Universe. I need to see Optimus Prime again in all of his glory. Plus the Bumblebee Movie was damn awesome.
