Well, Studio Series looks like it'll be the superior line next year. Legends figures are the only good thing about POTP.

And we are getting a MPM from ROTF? I can't imagine who it could be, but I think Sideswipe could be a possibility.

 

I Wonder if Battlemasters are Targetmasters, and Micromasters are Minicons? Only time will tell.

 

It was a prototype/proposed MM base that was never to be. I guess it was to be released sometime in 1991 or so if it had been...

 

Damn, talk about dissapointment from all fronts....
Micromasters blow monkey balls. How about doing sureshot, pointblank, crosshairs, flywheels, scorponok, firecons, deluxe insecticons, reflector, and a god damn voyager shockwave with bending knees.
 

 

Um, most of those could be done under this still. Many of those have cybertronian modes from the original toons, and they have yet to really cover what the insecticons were before their pod landed on earth anyway, so those could fit too and they have yet to do the other two from the WFC games anyway. Crosshairs is a cybertronian vehicle, plus is really only a quick repaint of Kup with a new head. Shockwave getting more saturated in the market makes him likely too, especially since they did more of Elita's team and he's their dominant antagonist on cybertron.

That seems likely.

Though I do wish they'd kept Legends/Scout class around. Not sure on the minicons part though. Likely they are more like the previous year's "Legends" micro figures but made to be peg compatible to TR/PM so they can have stands and use existing city bot stuff. So maybe more like World's Smallest TFs from a few years ago, but better done. Would be a good spot to throw in some minicons though.

Hopefully Legends fill find a new way to still get made. Maybe as two packs in Deluxe like the three pack one they made previously before CW when they were doing IDW Comics in the packs.

Definitely would not mind BattleTrap re-released that way alongside SkyTread/FlyWheels. Make it easier to get them instead of trying to track them down as is.

There's a very cynical part of me that interpreted "one MPM from the 2007 movie and ROTF" as just Starscream and its inevitable ROTF repaint.

 

Cybertronian Battlefield instead of earth... makes sense for:

• Star Saber
• Deathsaurus
• Victory Leo
• Thunderwing
• Apeface
• Snapdragon
• G1 Springer
• Countdown
• Scorponok
• Omega Supreme

Now hopefully we get the above instead of some D-listers homaging some obscure low print run ad from back in the day. Oh and original gimmicks retained please...don't make Apeface a Targetmaster and Thunderwing a Micromaster with Legends vehicle.

 

The micromaster thing makes believe that rumor about Omega Supreme being pushed back is going to surface in this line since both turn into bases. My only hope is that any Micromaster combiners (specifically two members) are handled like Dreadwind and Darkwing or Battleslash and Roadtrap. Anything larger, like say Sixliner, sixtrain, etc. I hope are Deluxes to Voyagers. I just want my CHUG trainbots, dammit.

 

My hunch is that Battlemasters will include the old style targetmaster guns, but extend the remit out to include melee weapons, like axes and flails f’r instance, hence the change fro the gun centric ‘target’ to the broader ‘battle’.

 

Seems likely with how well Micron Arms did in Japan during Prime. So I'm guessing a bit that's where this idea evolved from and was an excuse to make the target masters some figures are missing that Takara did.

He and Thunderwing seem really likely too.
Considering StarSaber/Victory Leo likely use engineering they practiced in POTP, and also integrate in the aspects of likely what BattleMasters are as well as micromasters, I'd put him high up on the list of potentially getting made and including all his forms. So he's got his Microjet, a bigger jet, and full armored Jet station. With his micro jet maybe becoming a sword to mimic the original's jet sword. Not sure, only guessing. Victory Leo would fit right into that too though, and maybe is getting a RazorClaw retool(Tigerhawk retool would be cool here too!) for the "Nemesis Saber" repaint they could do with star saber. Would make sense at least and fit the little bit we know so far and what we've seen they've done from the previous lines.

Thunderwing is really only a retool away from Skyshadow anyway. And now they can include his drone as a micromaster attachment.

Omega Supreme is probably after Predaking too, since he's a guardian robot and fits the WFC theme too. And would be a good endcap to that size scale with how Devastator started it since they share history.

Scorponok is the one I'm not sure about, would they go for Leader scale with him instead of full city bot size? He never was as big as Fort Max anyway. But he should be bigger than Leader class, but smaller than Fort Max/Metroplex.

 

I'm thinking that too because PCC's Minicons were various weapon types, which leads me to believe these new Masters figures are Minicons.
