i hope you're right...i honestly do. but i'm being realistic here. you guys should too.
And....the TPB is up on the Hatchette catalog...(ignore the cover image for now)
Collecting issues 1-4? I thought it was announced as a 5 issue series?
LOOKS TASTY. YES!
John McCrea @Newport Geekedfest 18th/ 19th May on Twitter
It's very preliminary info. Just a placeholder for now.
How he should look. There are several differences but it’s the eyes. The circular eyes and clearly defined eyebrows and nose give him a friendlier and more relatable appearance than the soulless killing machine of his new look.
Too grim dark. No personality shown.
Looks like a reject from A.B.C. Warriors, yes?
No worries. Buy Roche covers instead, yes?
ooh! Anything with Zama's name on it gets me excited! Can someone give me the TL;DR on who Death Head is?
A bounty hunter who prefers to be called a "Freelance Peacekeeping Agent".
In Transformers he was hired to get Rodimus prime, who then re-hired him to get Galvatron who then helped fight Unicron, where he then got shot through time. He ran into Dr Who where he was shrunk to human size and then sent into the mainstream MU UK / MU.
Ignoring all of that for just Marvel, he was built via magic and technology to house the soul of a powerful being. Became sentient and fought free. Did some stuff with Fantastic Four, She-Hulk, Iron Man, etc. all over space and time.
He's a dry humoured greedy entrepreneur who only cares about money and doesn't (mostly) do anything without financial gain.
Rule one: Always honour a contract but never trust a client.
Rule two: Make no concessions for age, size or gender.
Rule three: Never kill for free, but it pays to advertise.
And a bit of trivia, had it not been for that appearance, he would be a Hasbro-owned character, just like all the others they commissioned. However, like circuit breaker, marvel had him appear in a short pack-in comic first, so that they could claim the rights going forward.
There's a new interview with Death's Head writer Tini Howard on marvel.com. It includes full renders of previously teased artwork and some new stuff:
Writer Tini Howard Will Put Death’s Head Through an Existential Crisis This July
Um, is that the only panel you looked at? he clearly has the same eyes in other panels
The main difference is switching the green to blue honestly. The artist went on twitter to say they're not changing his design, it's not that much of a departure to call it a 'grim dark new look'.
See, these panels are new to me and they look much better than the other one I was referring to. This design I can relate to and have a sense of nostalgia for. The other one, not at all.
Kei\'s artwork is a perfect style for DeathsHead!
I wanna see this guy on screen. Make us a deal Disney!
Well I'm excited for this. I hope they have Spratt in the comic eventually even if it's a minor role.
Impressed by the artwork!
Yes, that. I forgot to mention the the art is gorgeous.
Death's Head is one of the few things about G1 that I have zero exposure to (never read the comics).
Therefore, I admit that I speak out of pure ignorance when I say I still think he looks like one of the most goofiest-looking characters I've ever seen (along with Beta Ray Bill, another CB character I know nothing about).
