Do we have any Wal-Mart associates in the building? I've just managed to get on as an Overnight Stocker. I had my first actual night of work just last night and it was a BLAST. I'm looking forward to going in tonight! There is still so much to learn, but the atmosphere is awesome, and everyone is super cool. And while the newbies like myself don't have assigned departments just yet, there is a very good chance i can get into the toy section :3

After being off work since April I am really looking forward to getting a paycheck again. and working through the night, while difficult(ish) to get used to, is a new experience that i am excited about.

I'm expecting you to make lots of submissions to the 'People of Wal-Mart' website.

I did that exact same job back in 1996. I was Christmas help. We unloaded trucks and stocked shelves. I ended up in housewares most often though. Never could get toys or sporting goods.

Hey, congratulations! I know a lot of people look down on Wal-Mart jobs, but Hell a paycheck is a paycheck! And hey you seem to enjoy it, so cool.:)

I'm on the lookout for a job, too, BTW. Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Kroger, are all on the list...

i did my time in that little slice of "the 'Nam"...
Worked overnight stocking in Frozen and Dairy while taking classes and volunteering.

i don't know whether to congratulate you or buy you a jet fuel grade drink (may need the booze more.)

there is some hope for you... if you can make it fun, you'll be okay. (trust me, there are ways to have fun at work without getting into trouble.)

    good luck.

Congrats on landing the job! Appreciate it cause I know people who ran out of unemployment money and can't find a job anywhere.

heh, thanks ^_^ I realize that people do look down on it, but honestly, the people are nice. I won't have to deal with any customers which will be a big stress relief. and the pay is very good. As a rule, Wal-mart pays above minimum wage, plus there are other premiums added on top when you work past 11pm.

as an employer, they really seem to want to take care of their people. I used to work at the library and while the pay was good there, there wasn't much i could do unless i wanted to get a masters degree in library sciences...yeah, no.

Let the haters hate. At this point, being able to have any regular job can be a good thing, let alone one that lets you share a building with a plethora of both Transformers & ammunition.

Don't yet count on not having to interact with customers. If you're store's open 24 hours, they'll find you. Oh yes...they'll find you....
