That Shockwave reminds me of the one in the video game for the 2007 Transformers movie--especially since he also turned into a helicopter and cannon.

 

If you just ignore the helicopter mode it's the best G1 Rodimus we've gotten in awhile.

 

The last picture with "gun mode" just looks like Megatron humping Shockwave...

 

I think it's practically a perfect match for the Rodimus in the current IDW comics and he kind of looks like that 3rd party add-on armor for Classics Rodimus from a few years ago, but personally I still think Classics Rodimus (or of course the Masterpiece Rodimus) is closer to the classic G1 look.

 

Rodimus indeed looks good, Shockwave is just ok. BH UM is a good move for TF Cloud/Japanese fans as he was skipped in the Japan TF Prime toy line. I'll probably pass on him unless he comes with some special accessory and show accurate decals.

Always noticed at least a little affection there.

I'm actually impressed by how good Rodimus is. But man, knowing he's gonna most likely be $100 just keeps me from pulling the trigger.

 

I don't care what anyone says, I think Shockwhirl is great.   The clear gun-arm attachment seals the deal for me.

Rodimus is good as well, of course. These Cloud figures are tempting me more and more.

That use of Whirl's third mode is utterly inspired and really helps answer a lot of our "what were they thinking?" questions.

Still, Brawn and Starscream stand out a little more due to their "new" parts.

I really enjoy the Cloud line in the abstract, but prices on them are just a little cray. It's worse than buying a lot of Collector's Club stuff, and from a US perspective there's usually a little more newness going on with Club stuff (i.e. retooling or really out-there paint).

 

Hoping a 3rd party does a more MTMTE-style replacement head for this.

This is definitely going on my Lost Light stand as Rodimus, but that would make it even better.

I never knew Shockwave was an Energon Autobot.

 

A twopack of Rodimus and Starscream for 45 I might bite. But I rather hope for a completely new mold Voyager Rodimus to go along with my future Arcee.

 

I'd bite at 50-60 per figure, similar in cost to an imported voyager. I can't justify 100 bucks each. I do like the Decepticons though. Might have to wait and see if they release the rest of the seekers in that Blitzwing mold. They fit well in a certain part of my collection. Maybe these will go on sale at some point.

According to their bios, Rodimus wants to be a "Knight" and Shockwave wants to be the ruler of space and time.

I don't know...bit too big isn't he? The Voyager would better fit the "scale" and price point of the line.
