Possible New Repaint of DOTM Voyager Class Optimus Prime

 

Wow. That looks like crap, I would hope that this is a production sample and not a final look. The mix of clear and opaque parts is odd, the streaky "battle damage" paint compared to no paint details anywhere else makes for a weird combination.

 

Man, it's like they're not even trying to be remotely creative with the repaints in this line.

 

Wow, how many shades of blue/red/white do we need? Are they trying to be patriotic? EVen translucent plastic can't save 'em this time.

Yeah, aren't the guns from Laserbeak? That's what I thought when I first saw the pictures a few weeks ago.

 

such an easy pass...

also they could of at least packed the guns in the gunmetal gray it had in the laserbeak package versus that "kaka" brown they used.

I wonder if those guns go to a different figure (a Laserbeak repaint maybe?) because the clear panels seem like it would fit with the Cyber Metal Armor Costco two-pack with the clear-tubed Shockwave, but that pack already showed to have the regular Voyager gun with it.

 

Yeah, I don't even think this set (pending if it is one) is worth getting even if it did have Shockwave in it.

 

I'm going with "bad custom" for 500 Alex, and not "bad repaint". That category's all tapped out.

 

For those of you acting surprised that the movie voyager Prime repaints are repetitive in this line, it's not like it hasn't been done with any previous toys.

 

I'm not surprised at all about voyager Prime getting another red/blue/gray deco as I've seen it before, but their Shockwave repaints are more or less the same combination of colors as well (in that case, purple, gray, etc.). The lack of thought in repaints is evident in this line when compared to past movie lines. Not to say that this sort of creative laziness hasn't been prominent to a certain extent in TFTM and ROTF or other lines, but I sense that there was a little more thought involved with the aforementioned.

Shit, redeco the fucking thing in Nightwatch colors and I'll accept it.
