I'm inclined to agree. Now if it was the Generations Leader Class mold that got this paint job I'd be all over it. But I can't bring myself to buy this one.

 

I have to say it looks MUCH less terrible than when it was revealed way back when. The Grimlock Optimus two pack version looked much better thanks to being chromed all over but this one isn't too bad either (still not too great). I'm sure it'll shelfwarm and clearance but regardless I'm even more tempted to pick it up now than before.

 

LITERALLY all they had to do to make this an easy sell was chrome the parts of the vehicle mode that should be chrome. That's it. The mold itself doesn't look bad to me!

 

That is definitely much less painful on my eyes, actually closer to a "maybe I might pick it if there is nothing else anywhere I want to buy, even online" status. Up from "Never, even under threat of death."

 

Oh Hasbro, trying to pull another DOTM Soundwave toy on us. We all know that there is NO silver paint on this guy.

 

To me with more organic looking body shape, huge backpack, big lower legs, sword and shield. He looks more like a Space Marine in Terminator armour, or a Primarch.

 

omg AND they photoshopped chrome? Ok. Ive seen some bs photoshops of TF's from Hasbro, but that's just criminal. Faking silver paint AND chrome as flat ugly grey plastic? Cmon.

 

If only they pull phase 2 of DOTM Soundwave (cancellation) on this thing.

 

We've seen it in package, and it looks bad. You really have to wonder if Target pays any attention to the low quality of exclusives they are regularly signing up for.

 

They definitely did something to him, this is not the abysmal thing we saw before.

This looks pretty cool. It's just too bad the retail version won't live up to these images. Might be worth getting on clearance though. I do rather like the look of this mold. The weapons being blue rather than piss yellow is a bit of a plus.

Color scheme reminds me of that repaint of Cybertron Override/Nitro Convoy.

They're actually Carly and Sam's skulls. Thus why they're not in the 4th movie.
