Anyway I'm looking forward to Flamewar; eventually I'll get the original and have both but I like that they used the BH mold, which actually is especially fitting since Flamewar's first appearance was in a Beast Era comic

 

Well, it isn't really a loss if you get something for the money but there isn't anything morally wrong with selling an item aimed at adult collector's that by design never saw widespread release. Like, if this was something meant for kids and adults scooped up dozens and dozens of them to sell, yeah, that'd be shitty but it aint what's happening here.

 

I was fortunate enough to pick up a 2005 Flamewar at a previous BotCon's "make me an offer" sale (it was a display model) -- It will be interesting to compare the differences in-hand. I will probably end up keeping both, though.

Strictly speaking guys, it's not really a "freebie" figure, Botcon themselves call them "attendee exclusive". As in "an additional exclusive available to those attending the convention". Someone mentioned the difference between bagged sets and boxed sets - I think you might be better served considering the attending and non-attending sets.

Ultimately, however you cut it, you still have to buy a ticket to the event to get the figure, so it's no different than, say, the Lawsons exclusive movie toys where you have to buy a movie ticket to get the things.

It sort of reminds me of Yoko from Gurren Lagann. Only a robot.

 

$90 well spent IMO.

I hope to own Flamewar someday.
