Slave-1 was the best thing in the entire movie franchise....
Power Full Figures PFF-10 "Sawshank" first teaser. Will form the neck, half the head, and half the back of Devastator in combined mode. Transforms into a rock trencher in alt mode.
very curious about this. Are there any more pics or a thread yet?
Very interesting! Is it cast or 3D printed or something else?
Yes, it is 3d printed.
Ah crap. They're usually really fragile.
Not yet but there will be once there is more to show off!
Correct on being 3D printed. The parts aren't fragile although care should be taken just like any other 3P figure as they aren't made to be handled by children like Hasbro's products.
Meh. Head now looks like he has a turtle neck. I’ll just wait for the inevitable DNA kit
Did you know that it is, in fact, possible to criticize something without sounding like an entitled asshole? You know that the designer of that product is posting in this thread right? Just checking.
Anyone that designs figures or accessories for this fandom needs to have extremely thick skin to take all the abuse. If I were them I wouldn't post in here at all.
Overload has a pretty cool looking leg mode if you just bend his vehicle mode into an L shape. Imagine an even bigger combiner that he could be a part of?
That looks 1000x better than Long Haul
Back scratcher mode comes to mind.
Well, this also wasn't the best thread to post about it. A separate thread in the 3p section (and news link) would have been much better.
No worries, I've heard a whole range of feedback over the years so I try to take the more constructive aspects of it. Fun fact, the "turtleneck"-ish look is intentional as there are multiple instances in the movie where his throat expands to that length. Those parts for the scoop for Sawshank and are on double ball-hinges so they can be angled in different ways. Will try to show that off in the next round of pics!
Ooh, I like Sawshank. I would prefer something with a slightly smoother surface like injection molding or something along those lines, but I will not turn down any addons (especially those that add articulation) for this beast of a team. Any idea of a potential pricepoint and/or release date?
That's good to hear. I've bought 3D printed parts for transformers that shatter if you handle them wrong, and pegs break off easily, stuff like that from normal use, so it's good to know this set will be at least more durable than that.
I'm impressed with anyone that even attempts to do those types of add-ons or entire figures. I work with CAD for a living so I can imagine how difficult it could be to sculpt these parts. And great job taking the criticisms in stride. You have a much thicker skin than I do and I respect that.
Well, I think the Sawshank add-on has a wrong crest. There should be 4 large curved horns coming direcly from the head, not a weird round/hexagon thing with 4 straight protrusions. Also, wanna say that it is kinda impossible to do a good eight-combiner, especially one like Devu at SS price point and compexity. Something would certainly suck (no pun intended). Such as head/neck, Mixmaster's cannon mode (he lacks one here), the usage of mou shindeiru Scrapmetal as an hand...
Mad respects to you too! I wish I could have dome CAD for a living, but I always luck out on the interview. Figured I should put my skill to use though.
Indeed, there has to be a sacrifice somewhere. I've gone through so many iterations on the horns and this was the only one that landed alright with me. I'll keep taking a look at the concept art to see if there's a different way to do it without interfering with alt mode.
Iterations? There are different horn add-ons???
Separate names with a comma.
