Is that the closest you can get them plugged in? Or are you just showing a photo?

Either way...they require a good solid push to secure, and when in Devy mode, you'll want to make sure the rotation of the shoulders is just right, or else those will continually pop out.

Those little strut tabs should peg in nicely when you have him in either of these set ups.

 

So, probably a dumb question. But for those of you who have Overload, is it easier to attach him to Rampage and Long Haul first, or Scavenger first? Or is there no noticeable difference?

 

My Overload is taking such along time to be in North Amierca.

 

I would think scavenger to overload for a full torso, the feet, mixmaster, then the arms
At least that what I think because the leaders are the biggest parts, then add some stable footing to tab the last three parts in

 

I don't think it makes a ton of difference, but I prefer to leave the arms until last.

 

Easier to do Mixmaster on Scavenger first, then attach to Overload, and then attach the limbs.

I saw this devastator theory that mixmaster isn’t the face but he’s only the neck (not like the figure). The scavenger busts devastators face through mixmaster, making scavenger make up devastators face. Makes sense to me because the face is red and he’s red. Just thought I’d share.

I use Wotafa for just about every figure's transformation.

For Devy, he shows the stock transformation.

 

I’ve been tinkering around more with the constructions, and I still think Scavengers the best figure out of the team. Definitely in my personal top 5. Please tell me I’m not the only one.

 

Scavenger’s awesome! Mixmaster is my personal favourite, but Scavenger is easily top 3 if not my second favourite.

 

If I recall, the original Devastator design was going to have the grey like in the concept art. I think in one of the first teaser trailers where he crushes the car with his arm had his grey face. In the behind the scenes, the ILM designers were told by Bay that he wanted more details added to the model, which is why they ended up with a red face. I think it is more of a design thing rather than trying to make a theory behind it.

 

Scavenger is up there, probably my second favourite Constructicon, after Mixmaster.

That happens for anything Bayverse. Over-analyze it and you'll always hit a wall early on that is either "Bay wanted it that way so they changed it" or "this concept was mostly dropped at the last minute so you're seeing the vestigial leftovers".

Huh. At first I was considering Skipjack because I thought he may look better as a leg with that shield piece from Scrapmetal attached.

Bur seeing the pic? Nah. It's too far away to help. So sticking with Rampage.
