On the G1 toy, both of his legs were the same color.

It's not permanent, and it is doable as evidenced by multiple people on these boards, including myself.

However, you MUST have an extremely steady hand in order to undo flathead pins with a soldering iron without accidentally hitting and melting the surrounding plastic. Flathead pins have ridges in them, which is why standard pin removal fails.

Technically the ptoblem is a large flat head pin that is very deep on the side, so a regular soldering iron wouldnt work to remove it

I think Canopy would be a fantastic reuse of Long Haul. Obviously he wouldn't have to literally turn into rubble. Just give Long Haul a new head and a big rubble accessory that attaches to his back in robot mode, and to his truck bed in vehicle mode (so it looks like he's hauling rubble). The accessory could unfold to become big enough cover him, like we see in the movie. Maybe they could advertise it as a shield, so it would be more marketable. Throw in a little Sqweeks figure and you'd have a fine Voyager figure.

they’d find a way to stretch everything out enough to be a leader class. I’m looking at you shockwave.

I just check my alerts. I dont always read pages and pages of comments made since my last post. Apparantly, someone already beat me to the punch. But on the original conversation, a Payload (yellow long haul) would be a good idea. I personally dont care about Devy having matching legs. But it would be nice to have the prominant characters that had robot modes in the movie to be displayed individually. (Without having to buy doubles) So assuming we get the inevitable Demolisher repaint, a Payload and an alternate redeco of Mixmaster (green perhaps) would be great to free up the other 4 figures while still having a Devy on display with them.

With large transformable rubble and a small transformable sqweeks on top of the main voyager figure, we'd probably be looking at a leader price point, but I'd be okay with it still if it's done well

They probably could stretch him into a Leader, but I kind of doubt they would want to. He was a relatively minor character from a movie that not a lot of people saw. Shockwave didn't have a huge role either, but at least he was in a hit movie and has name recognition with fans and kids because of his presence in the cartoons and whatnot. I could easily see a Leader Canopy shelfwarming, since no one really knows or remembers who he is. Keeping him a Voyager would probably be a safer and more feasible option. But you never know what they'll do.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking because I would personally prefer him be a Voyager. I don't really collect much at all these days, and I tend to stay away from stuff larger than Voyagers...I haven't bought a Leader since I was a kid. But Canopy is a figure I would consider getting as a Voyager, just because I like buying weird and unusual characters. If they included mini-Sqweeks and made the rubble fit in his truck bed, I couldn't resist that. Not sure I could justify buying that as a Leader though.

How I would do it - Payload is a straight repaint of Long Haul

SS Canopy also comes out later on, as a slight retool of a new mold TLK Onslaught (borrowing a lot of sculpting from Long Haul). The villainous spikes and weapons are swapped out for a soft "rubble pile" that lays on the back like DOTM Meg's cloak.

Yeah... it’s like mixing mac n’ cheese and chocolate. It doesn’t really work.
