This is possibly best concatenated in another thread, but looking on the promo banner for TRU Canada's sale this weekend, I noticed that it's using CAD/boxart for several figures not actually out yet... including Doublecross's boxart/CAD model.

Probably an irresponsible inadvertent mistake but it's still neat.

Damn! I wish Sixshot was out already. I'd buy like 10 of them on sale.

 

He almost looks like a heavy remold of Mindwipe.

 

Kind of cruel to plug the sale with three figures who aren't even out yet.

Except two of the key elements of Mindwipe aren't present: He doesn't have leg/hands and the legs don't open up into wings.

*Maybe* he has the same torso with the fakey wings, but that'd be the extent of it.

 

I think I found my most anticipated deluxe of Wave 3! I mean yeah I really want to see Triggerhappy and Getaway but man does he look awesome!

Shame Repugnus is going to be a Titan Master. Really want deluxe Monsterbots.

Nice. I have a vintage Doublecross in my collection, not sure how he got there. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw the other monsterbots; remember, after TR, we have a third line coming in the Prime Wars and we're already at the end of the G1 story with the Headmasters, Sixshot, and even the end of the original toy line with reveals like Laser Optimus. Hell, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if the third chapter involved Pretenders.

 

You know, I gotta hand it to Hasbro. After years of bitching about a lack of regard for the old characters and fun toys, they have just been killing it the past couple of years. Are there complaints to be made? Sure, but for crying out loud, they're actually managing to get me excited about repaints and retools. I'm still salty about all of the prepaints, but dang, there's a lot to love out there right now.

If it wasn't for the blockiness of the legs and the wings, I wouldn't have known.

 

CW Remold PTSD strikes again!

his entire transformation structure is different, he will likely end up sharing common parts (like thighs and t-crotch) with someone (but not Mindwipe who has barrel-shaped thighs.), but he's assureadly not a Mindwipe remold.

The new Laser Prime actually pretty awesome there. I can't be the only hoping Hasbro rereleases it in black and actually calls it Scourge instead of Nemesis Prime this time. But if I know Hasbro they'll be sure to disappoint.

 

Nah it's a retool of Skullsmasher.

 

He still doesn't have hands, just 5mm deep cheekholes in the dragon heads at the end of his arms. It's perfect  

 

I tell you what, Doublecross looks more like he could turn into Fangry if Hasbro was so inclined.

 

I'm in for Scourge, too. I passed on the G2 Prime repaint, but I'd be all in on this one.
