Infestation 2 begins in January, and will involve Transformers. Chuck Dixon and Guido Guidi are involved, and so is the 'Hearts of Steel' universe. More details at Newsarama.
uh... the first Infestation sucked though... but i like the HoS universe, so i might check it out... maybe it'll get better... and i'm already reading TMNT, but not D&D or 30 days of night, nor do i plan to. if TMNT looks good, maybe i'll check it out, but i doubt i will...
^this!!! giant universe spanning crossovers are getting old and turned me off of buying, reading and collecting comics cause no book had its own gotdang story anymore...everything crosses over into everything else...hell why bother having individual titles anymore....enough seriously.
More Hearts of Steel? Fantastic news, I cannot wait for this! I actually enjoyed the Infestation series when it rolled around the first time. Will have to see what it offers this time round!
Darn it, I was hoping for Godzilla vs Zombies this time. I have the first volume trade but haven't gotten around to reading it yet.
1. Infestation was a lot of fun. Each of the individual franchises had a good little story, even if I didn't hugely care for (yet still enjoyed) the CVO stuff that bookended it. 2. The transformers srory from Infestation 1 was cool, with great art and actually did something to affect the ongoing universe (sending Kup into the past... Nothing actually said they killed him off) 3. Hearts of Steel was awesome. I love that they're revisiting their OTHER unique continuity, and hopefully will expand on the concept they suggested many years ago. (elseworlds style transformers)
RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!!! But seriously, the first was okay....I'll look into it mainly for the H.O.S. universe
Like the (TF) creative team, but the first one was a pretty poor outing, I'm afraid. Do I mean Infestation or do I mean Hearts of Steel? You can be the judge. Boy, IDW... I really dig their aggressive reprinting of classic comics and comic strips... but they handle most everything else in a hamfisted kind of way. "Boy, the first Infestation sold moderately well, so let's do another! But this time, instead of zombies, it's some Lovecraft jazz!"
While I didn't find the first Infestation series amazing, I thought it was pretty fun overall (even reading the non-TF storylines). So I'll probably be looking into this one, too. The Old Ones enemy seems interesting, instead of just saying "Guess what? The Undermind is still around!" or something like that. And while that cover is pretty cool looking, it looks like HoS Optimus Prime's chest isn't the steam engine front that it should be. *nitpick*
Meh...the first one was OK at best. But couldn't they wait at least a year to do another? are they that desperate?
I've been wanting more HOS stories since the first miniseries. Though I'm not a fan of Infestation, I'll take what I can get.
