Too bad they don't have a metal Optimus box art to compliment that Megatron...
I walked around the whole store, looking up high on the walls. there's a few pictures, and a lot of promotional stuff, but sadly no G1 Transformers pictures. Hopefully it will be there next time...
Just as soon as I can get into a HL the package art poster will be mine.
went to Hobby Lobby last night, didn't see any of the metal cutouts but they had the canvas print.... and it looks HORRIBLE in person. or at least the QC on the batch that showed up at my HL was horrible. one was extremely blurry, and the other 3 looked like the source picture was left outside in a desert sun for a week the colors were all washed out and just trash. Which is pretty sad considering how beautiful the original source paintings are.
This for me as well.
Oh well, I can do without those wicked neat TF merchandisings.
Honest question, what do you do with those tin/metal pictures? Hang them on the wall?
I know I was thinking that today, picked up Megs today, again on the top shelf closer to the back of the store... didn't expect him to be there.... they're really keeping the TF's away from all the DC goodies.
When I told the folks today I was looking for the Bumblebee to go with Megs, they said come back in a day or two, they still had a lot of stock in the back that needed to be put on display. Hope you find them next time you shop.
From what I can tell on the Megatron one, it has two 'zip tie' type of 'hooks' (just loops really) that you can use to hang him on the wall.
Found the prints at a Hobby Lobby in Plano, TX. They are nice for $20. I think they could have sacrificed more of the white space for less cropping, but it looks good still. I would love it better if they did individual pictures in landscape orientation as canvas prints. Those would look amazing.
Found the 40$ print in Montgomery Hobby Lobby in the print section (far right side). Was last one, and now there are none. No metal TF art work, however. Lots of tempting corvette pieces too!
Stopped by the Hobby Lobby in North Austin (Anderson & Lamar) and found these:
I'm going to hang them in my office at work with my retired MPs...They had 1 of each left look at far right side of store when you walk in. Lot's of cool Marvel, DC & Star Wars stuff, too.
I checked the store nearest me today and they tons of Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Star Trek, Scooby-Doo, etc. No TF stuff in sight though.
The kitty's in the first and third picture in the first post. Look towards the top, behind the poster.
That's actually Skidz. Here's a pic of Rumble with Frenzy. Rumble is the white kitty, Frenzy is to the right.
I dig ya!
@Rookbartley So Rumble is White, Frenzy is Tabby? I never knew!
Cosign. I would pay well for a high quality print of the '87 art.
I'd also love the Japan '86 art as a print
And who wouldn't want the '84? I'd take that, '85 and '88 Masterforce as well.
40% off one regularly priced item at Hobby Lobby, which makes the poster $16 instead of $20!
The canvas is already on sale 50% off from $40 down to $20, though, so I doubt they'll let you use the coupon on top of it since it's not regular price.
I would buy all of the back of the box art (except the US micromaster/classics pretender/ultra and mega pretender era art). In an actual High Quality print. The hobby lobby attempt doesn't even come close to quality based on what showed up in my local store.
