sheesh. When they say hi-res they aren't kidding. After putting together the parts from Starscream, it's an effing huge picture even at 1/4 the size
Sorta, these give a little bit more than the ones we saw last time. The next site update (hopefully before the 3rd) will have the final pieces of the puzzle.
Prime SUPER HIG RES http://forums.toynewsi.com/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=1155 sorry I can't do a 2meg file upload on photobucket, I can on TNI so you gotta go there to see it, untill someone else can upload it. man, we need the rest of the parts so we can finish putting them together Kinda funny, seeing such a high resolution iamge, you can see just how lazy the 3D moddelers got when adding in the detail. the wires and rounded objects are all blocky instead of smoothed out
I look at this image and think back to a time when I thought Movie Starscream was one of the worst TF designs ever. Now, I think he is one of the best. This image(s) really show some of the best qualities of the new Starscream. I can't wait to see him in action.
Neato! One question though, you know those... things on the sides of Screamer's head? Those curvy things that make his head look like a helmet? Where are they in this picture? They didn't remove them did they??
Noticed some of that. Made me wonder if these images are actually using some lower-poly models either used for action or non-closeup shots, or maybe even video game models.
See, that's just it. Not only are they not there, but they're replaced with some... vernier-like things... Am I just not looking at it right?
Lazy? Lazy?!!! You do realize that these models will never, ever, ever be used at resolutions this insane, right? Did you want them to take 46 hours of cpu time to render each frame or something? For details that would never, ever be seen at 1080p?
I believe somebody here explained (when these 'puzzle' pics were last seen, that ILM uses a different method of rendering for the movie, and when they need to render a couple of quick pics for promotional purposes, so the blockiness will not appear on the in-movie shots.
The picture does not do the actual character justice. I was blown away by how great the starscream closeup was
